Honestly, it was kind of awkward. We’d met online and had been chatting on and off for a couple of weeks before we met. We’re both really quiet and pretty shy on first meetings, and we decided to play pool – which we both kinda sucked at. But there was something about him that made me want to see him again.

We went to go see Sweney Todd at the movies and I dug my fingernails into his arm.
How romantic! (we still laugh about that one)

I met my husband through a mutual friend that brought him to a Super Bowl party that I was hosting. We hit it off almost instantly and began hanging out regularly with this group of friends. It took him almost two months to ask me out since he didn’t want to make it awkward in our friend group.
Our first date went really well! He invited me over and cooked a delicious Italian meal. A man that can cook is definitely a keeper =) We ended up drinking wine and watching a movie at his place. We had really good conversation, but he didn’t make a move when he walked me to my car at the end of the night. No hug, no kiss, nothing. Apparently he was too nervous, but I was worried that he didn’t like me. However, he called the next day and invited me on another date.

it was a “blind” date, we met on match.com. we set up a date to go as short as we needed it to if we didn’t hit it off but ended up hanging out for 12 hours, and the next day 12 more hours haha

um yeah I guess it is. We have known each other since we were 6, we were FWB as teenagers then moved intogether during university and at somepoint he said “I love you” so we stopped messing around as FWB and got into a serious relationship.
So the dates would have been silly really and we never went on any, but yeah still after a very long time of being together we have never been on a ‘date’ ever.

He got sick the week leading up to our first date and asked on the day of if we could postpone because he developed a cough. But because our schedules wouldn’t mesh for another two weeks, he was afraid that I’d get “snapped up” by someone else, so he decided to come anyway and keep our date. 🙂
We went to a cute dessert restaurant that has all these fancy ice creams, crepes, and waffle platters. He made me choose what he should order and I picked an awesome hazelnut-chocolate-waffle thing. 😀 We ate our desserts and talked until 1am (we met at 7pm), and he started to lose his voice near the end.
Then we walked to the subway and he took my huge gym bag, which no other guy had done before! And to this day he’s still teasing me/complaining about how I didn’t turn around to smile at him when I got on the subway going the opposite direction from him. 😛
It was great!

We met at a bar, and ended up making out the entire night (sooo classy lol). At the end of the night he didnt have anything to write my number down so he actually memorized it and called me as soon as he got home.
Two weeks later we go on our first official date where he picks me up in his convertable mustang (I remember he mentioned something about it at the bar, but I thought it was just a lame line). We went to see death race, which is just about the worst date movie ever made. Prisoners soup up cars and then race to the death, the last person alive is granted freedom. However, the main car was a mustang and so after the movie he let me drive his car home, since I’m a huge muscle car fan that was major points for me.
Fast forward 5 years, we own a house together and are getting married in 6 months!
