I’ve heard the hospital has ok food but it’s in a college town so there are quite a few great places for takeout within blocks of the hospital and a handful for delivery. I have a feeling we’ll order out or send someone on a food run!
What was your first meal after baby was born?

For most UK mothers it’s tea and toast!

It depends if you are allowed solids or not. I had a c-section so I wasn’t allowed to eat solids until the next day. I wasn’t so hungry until the next day anyways. The first meal that I ate that my fiance got me was a chicken salad from wendy’s. It was good.

my entire pregnancy (one of them) i threw up every single day, multiple times a day. i had very strict restrictions on what i could eat and tolerate. i could basially only eat carbs. no meat, no veggies, no fruits, no nothing else. it was gross.
the very first thing i ate after i had the baby, was a big deli sandwich with tons of meat on it. i was so happy.
another time i ate fish and chips, and another time i ate a big chefs salad with french fries. the last i ate chicken nuggets and fries.

As Dear Daughter was born just before 2am, pancakes and sausage from the hospital was the first meal. But the next afternoon, my BFF brought amazing tacos and guacamole and I was in heaven!!!!

I had a section, so my first meal was liquids. The hospital food was pretty decent, but we had sushi/chinese food ordered for the third night.

I had coffee and a turkey sub. I was craving both the entire pregnancy! The food at the hospital was actually really good. They have a really fancy restaurant there and the room service from the maternity ward comes off that menu ( yet I still chose a turkey sub 🙂 )They had full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. Fiance and I took advantage of it the entire 3 days we were in the hospital. Unfortunately #2 is being delivered at a different hospital.

Drizzle: I waited 7 hours before they remembered they hadnt given me any toast. I was starving! The hospital food was really nice in my hospital. I really enjoed the food. I think the first proper meal was bveef casserole with peas, green beans and mashed potatoes.

I wasn’t allowed to eat until the next day (I’m not sure if it was because of the c section or still being on magnesium for 24 hours post delivery) but my first meal was breakfast – and I wolfed down the entire tray. It was a cheese omelette, two french toast sticks, a bowl of Cheerios with milk, a banana, a blueberry muffin, OJ and coffee. I think it took me about thirty seconds to scarf it all down. That night, we had pizza delivered to the hospital… That was awesome!

Liquid diet until the next day but I made my sister bring me a roast beef sandwich. All I wanted was a sandwich, I was starving. The food wasn’t so bad at the hospital though, their grilled cheese was decent.

The nurses on my floor brought a turkey sandwich with Miracle Whip on wheat in around midnight. On any other day, I wouldn’t touch that with a ten foot pole, but I ate like it was going to run off the plate if I didn’t get it. We still laugh about it.

I had Quiznos Classic Italian and it was sooo good. The hospital also gave us a ‘celebration meal’ that was amazing. I had chicken cordon bleu, green beans, and mashed potatoes, Darling Husband got a huge steak. I’m pregnant again and I’m actually looking forward to the celebration meal again.
