I’m curious to see what other Bees’ experiences have been, because I thought registering would be the easiest part! We just came from a whirlwind wedding planning weekend! My mom and Future Mother-In-Law were in town and we went with one of my BMs to search for a dress. I only tried on about 10, had a great time, and found a dress I loved. We were in and out in about an hour and a half!
Starting our registry, on the other hand, was crazy! I thought it would just be fun, but by the end of our 3 hour trip to a giant BB&B I thought I was about to pass out. Granted, Fiance and I took our moms, which meant a lot of opinions. The next day at C&B was more fun, but that first day starting from scratch was was more stressful and confusing than I thought! How do we know where to start and what to pick? How do we choose the price points? Do we seem too gift grabby to register for some expensive items?
Did you find registering to be fun or a little stressful? I know it sounds silly to think of asking for gifts as stressful (we can all agree there are far worse things to worry about), but perhaps some of you can relate. Were you happy with what you picked, or did you second guess things? Did you and Fiance agree on all of the items?

We only registered at Macy’s so far, and it was a good experience. We don’t live together so it’s nice to pick out stuff to set up our home. He said he thought it was really fun, although he didn’t like the china I picked out (luckily he gave in though! I really had my heart set on it lol)
I think BB&B seems stressful b/c the bulk of the stuff is from there. I think you just pick whatever you want and don’t worry about the price points. Like for us, at Pottery Barn we’re going to do some really expensive furtniture, not b/c we think people will buy it, but because when we buy for ourselves, we’ll get the registry discount. Also expensive itmes are good b/c groups of people will go in on stuff. I don’t think any one person is buying my $180 china platter, but maybe my mom’s group of coworkers or something will pitch in. I say just have fun with it, someone’s gonna hvae comments no matter what so just do what you want!

We set up both our registries online. Stress free. 🙂

The first time we went into our registrey we didn’t have fun at all.. we went after doing some other wedding stuff and the day was just too long. both of us were exhauseted and our feet hurt from walking around the store for hours.
We went again more recently to add a few more things, it was the only ‘wedding’ thing we did that day and we weren’t there near as long so we had a lot more fun.

@Seaside: BB&B was definitely stressful for that reason! Less of the fun stuff, more of the utilitarian. Will we need a wine aerator? Which spatulas? What sizes of frying pans? It was so overwhelming! After our experience, I agree with you about the price points. People can pick whatever they want, and some might want to go in on something bigger. I can’t please everyone, and if people don’t want to buy something, they don’t have to.
@iheartnerds: I would have loved to have done that too, but moms wanted to go and Fiance wanted to feel all the towels and stuff in person. It’s so much easier adjusting it online now than it was to go around with the barcode scanner.
@Elarissa: That’s just how I felt! i’m glad I’m not the only one. I thought it would be great to get everything done in a day but it was totally exhausting. Hopefully we can go back to add and it will be more fun.
