I was surprised although I had a vague idea it was coming eventually. When he asked, I kind of laughed at how nervous he looked, it’s so unlike him. And then I said yes.
He explained afterward that he was freaking out because he was running out of proposal ideas. He originally planned an elaborate Disney World proposal but we couldn’t go due to Hurricane Irma. We went to Vegas instead and it was impossible to plan something similar with such short notice so he decided on a scenic overlook while we hiked Red Rock Canyon. We got married the very next day in Vegas.

I thought he was joking and said sure, and turned to keep walking to the car! Haha. In my defense, he said, “Jayquellen, will you marry me, for realzies?” Due to the ‘for realzies’, how much he has asked me to marry him in passing, and because he was using a ring I already had as a stand in (the real one is arriving today!!), I didn’t think he was serious in considering this as the actual proposal. I also had a bit of shock afterwards.
He did ask if I was supposed to cry and I said, “I don’t know. Do you want me to cry?” He said no, lol.

MrsNerdy : I love this. I remember reading this a while ago.
I was overflown with joy. I teared up a little and said of course, babe!

I’m not an overly excitable in general and I knew the proposal was coming. I was happy in the moment but completely collected. I accepted the proposal and we went on our way. No tears, shrieks or jumping up and down.

I started giggling and said yes. I really thought I was going to cry, with my ex, I cried. But this relationship has been so perfect and different, I think it was perfect that I giggled.
I knew it was coming, there were lots of hints and he’s not the best at surprises and neither is anybody around us. I even had a feeling of exactly when it was going to be, but it still caught me by surprise. I walked around beeming and giggling even thru being sick every day since the proposal! But that’s how both of us are together. We smile constantly in each others presence, or we’re making goofy faces at each other and laughing.

Basically, my internal/out loud reactions went like this:
Out loud: REALLY?! OMG! REALLY?! AAAAH! REALLY?!
Internal: Omg. You’re saying really too much! Say something else!
Out loud: SERIOUSLY?!
Internal: That’s the same thing!
Out loud: REALLY?!
That went on for a *reeeeeeally* () long time – like 20 minutes. I was just a bit tongue-tied and in the clouds for a bit to think of words.

Darling Husband had planned everything himself while I was away with my sister for 2 weeks. He even got the ring then so I was completely in the dark about anything to do with a proposal.
When I turned round to see him down on 1 knee I started shock crying, and all i could do for the first 10 or so seconds was nod uncontrollably. It was only once I’d caught my breath that I could speak and say yes.

I said “of course” and then after the hugs/kisses I couldn’t stop giggling. Giggled the whole way home then giggled while my mom and sister cried as we told them lol. I was def shocked by my reaction, thought I’d be a cry-er but I think he caught me so off guard I couldn’t do anything but laugh.

I was in shock! it happend at home… we have over a foot in height difference and I was bit confused when he started bending over to come to my eye level lol all of sudden he’s down on one knee asking me to marry him! I lunged at him and hugged him. I started bawling and saying is this really happening?! Then he pulled me off of him and said do you want to look at the ring? and held out the box/ring hahaha I was so in the moment I hadn’t even looked a the ring! It was so surreal! It felt like I was in a dream!

I bawled like a baby – even thought I knew it was coming! I never cry either, so I was very surprised.

I always promised myself that I wouldn’t do the cliche hand over mouth thing when I got proposed to. Well, I did lol!
I had a feeling it was coming, but even still it’s incredibly shocking when it actually happens. I didn’t cry but my heart was racing and I was shaking. It all felt surreal.
Now that I’m married, being married feels surreal.

It was an amazing moment. We were both emotional and excited!

We had booked a vacation with my best friend and her boyfriend back in March, and only after we booked it did we realize our anniversary fell on that trip! So I wanted to do a romantic dinner that night (it was an all inclusive so a private dinner was not common lol) and we had talked before about rings, timelines, etc. I told him that I had wanted to be engaged by our 4 year anniversary. As we were settling in to our beachside dinner, a photographer came over and asked if we wanted some pictures. I thought nothing of it, figured since we had paid extra for the dinner they wanted to do that and then have us buy pictures LOL. So we took a few, and went back to the table. Then she pops up again after the soup, and asks if she can do some sunset photos. Still, had no clue. As we’re walking by the beach, she tells him to bend down as if hes proposing and for me to look at her. Since I’m so type A, I thought nothing of it. When I looked down he had the ring out and was proposing. Then as my best friend said (she actually hired the photographer and was watching from the shadows!) “You melted.”

clipclop1023 : I was too excited to cry. I may have teared up, but I definitely didn’t ball. I also didn’t really cry at the wedding because I was too excited.

I knew it was coming for the entire time leading up to it, so when he actually dropped to one knee I sort of happy gasped and squeaked a little and then said yes! Somehow it still managed to surprise me even though I was on bated breath waiting for it.
