Well I’m not married yet, and we do have a ways to go so this COULD change, but right now we’re leaning towards a 7&7 for him, and we’ll call it the “Golden Groom”, and a blue margarita for me, that we’ll call “The Starry-Eyed Bride” (which works well because my reception theme is Van Gogh’s Starry Night.)

We chose these because they are our favorite drinks! Well, technically my favorite drink is an Irish Car Bomb, but I didn’t see that being a good signature drink for a wedding reception!!! LOL

We had the R&L.  It was vodka with pink lemonade and a little peach schnapps.  It was served in a tall, slim glass with a twist of lemon and a pink or grey striped paper straw.

We also had light up pink light up ice cubes for drinks as mentioning the lit ice cube in my glass is how Darling Husband hit on me. 🙂

I want to have a signature drink at my reception- but I am not sure how I go about and pick one out since I dont know all the liquor and mixers that they have at the venue.  Did you ask the coordinator for a list? Or did you buy the special alcohol yourself? I want to do something with Purple since that is my color.

Ours are silly.  We are having Kris wine as that is part of both of our first names (and yes both spelled with a K) and then another ready made drink that has his last name.   So both our drink will spell our new names. Simple and easy.  But obviously not something that works for everyone.  I used to work for a liquor store so I picked up on all sorts of fun named wines, beers, and RTD cocktails.  That helped.

My brother and SIL in law had two.  One with my brother’s last name and one with her last name.  They then added -ini and -tini to the end to make it festive.  The one with my last name was a 007 (Stoli O, Orange juice and 7-up).  The one with her last name was Prosecco and Pomegranate.

I’m thinking about doing a berry mojito. It will probably be named something along the lines of “berry mojito”. Mojitos are our favorite drink, so if they can do that, i will have those. If not, I might to a funky sangria

My signature cocktail was just lychee in champagne. I got a few compliments from our guests that it was a nice touch to add the lychees. DH’s signature cocktail was his favorite drink/inside joke with all the guys that went to his bachelor party…a Manhattan.

@DEBeachGirl:  That’s so cool! I love that your drink names are really your names.

We did something called a “Doodle” an inside joke/nickname we call eachother. It was Sprite, Blue Curaçao, Malibu, and sweet and sour mix…

This one melted a little and got a little greener than they started out… but damn they were yummy…

We had a “Marry Me Margarita” It was perfect for July and summer, very refreshing. Our color was purple but it was just too stressful finding something that mixed up into a purple drink that wasn’t very expensive, so we went the simple route with a regular margarita. Everyone said they loved it!

We didn’t have a signature cocktail perse…but one of my favorite drinks when I’m not trying to get drunk-drunk and want something a little sweeter is an amaretto sour.

All of my friends at our wedding were like, “we’re going to drink the same drink as the bride!” It became kind of funny because everyone always knows I drink amaretto sours, so guests started ordering them because of me. They had to find more amaretto!

Mimosas.  We had a Sunday brunch wedding so I think it fit nicely.  If we would have had an evening wedding I would have chosen some sort of martini.
