I’m wrapping up the final details of our wedding now and will be meeting with our videographers in about 7 weeks time (eeeek!) to discuss the choreography of the day (is that the right word? eh) and other such video/cinematography related things. Our package includes a 5 minute “snapshot” video of our day, to music, as most videographers do these days.
My question is what song did you choose as your background music for this? Did you get to select what music you wanted, or did the videographers choose something of their own accord? We are putting down a lot of money for this service (it’s one of our most expensive wedding items to date ($2K)) so I would like to think that we would be able to choose our own music, or at least put forward suggestions?
I am walking down the aisle to The Piano Guys’ rendition of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, and was thinking that their rendition of David Guetta/Usher’s “Without You” would make a lovely background song for our wedding video. Here’s a link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfRtPbBFoGg
We are getting married in the UK in the winter, and I feel that the sound made by the cello has that beautiful haunting sound to it that fits with the landscape, and makes me (and hopefully others!) get goosebumps!
Let me know what you think! 😀

For the shorter highlight video, our videographer chose “God Gave Me You” which was fine with us. Highlight video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr_r4agCnM4
We also got a longer video to include our personalized vows and more of the ceremony. The videographer chose a piano song in the background for the vows / ceremony part, which was fine with us because we were talking over it for most of the time. Then we chose Sister Hazel’s “This Kind of Love” for the reception part. Longer video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjJmcYSnWxc&t=544s
We got both of these videos for a grand total of $500. Yay for booking amateurs! 🙂
I like the song you chose a lot — it’s very upbeat!
Be sure to discuss music licensing with your videographer and establish who will be paying to get the songs licensed for publishing on youtube, etc.

“Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us” by Starship…
We also have a 30 minute cinematic highlight video in the works where we choose songs for intro, bride/groom prep, ceremony, photoshoot, reception etc…
No idea how much it was. It was part of our photography/cinematography package which we paid $10K+ for.

Music was hugely important to me and the thing I got organised first for our wedding.
So I was a little bit miffed when we were told that due to rights reasons for the video short we had to chose from two websites. There were thousands of tracks on them but only one of the songs that was on my list.
Thats ‘home’ by Philip Philips. So that made the choice very straightforward! Here’s our highlights
So just check with your videographer what’s permissible. We could have our full chosen tracks for the main DVDs. We just had a limited choice for the short trailer.

Literally just figured this out today! I think we’re doing All of Me by John Legend and From the Ground Up by Dan and Shay. He said to pick two for our highlight.
What will be fun is picking the 12-15 we need for our video lol

Aww, your Mama walked you down the aisle, too! Mine will be walking me 🙂 she even has red hair like mine! Hehe. Wedding videos always make me cry (at inopportune times, like at work right now!) – yours is no different! Where in the UK did you get married? It reminds me of when we went to Cornwall last year. We’ll be getting married in the country just outside of Doncaster, Yorkshire!
I’ve been stalking your wedding photos and your video is magical 🙂
Oh my gosh I LOVE this song!! Hmmmm might have to run this past my husband now lol… I’m sure he’d love it too. You’re so beautiful!!

yup they make me blub all the time too. And yes mama did the honours. She was adamant about that for years!! And hurrah for the redhead mums 🙂 :). Across the Bristol Chanel from Cornwall in South Wales is where our wedding was. I’m looking forward to seeing your video now too!
