Just out of curiosity, what did you (or are you) actually spending on your wedding?
*No judgement here! Whether your budget was extremely big or very limited it would be nice to see different budgets and how that reflects (or doesn’t reflect) on the type of wedding you had*
Please post some photos too .

Mine is $5500, but still in the planning process of course. Hopefully we’ll stay under that!

Our budget is 10,000 but it looks like it’s going to be actually $6-7,000

As close to $5000 as possible, but so far I haven’t spent a penny. Most of my budget will go to the venue, food and drink. The rest will be free, DIY, or cheap.
We’ll see how close I can keep it!

Our budget is theoritically $15,000 ( 5 from us, 5 from my parents, and 5 from his). We are trying to find ways to cut this cost but still have my dream mountain wedding. What is your budget like?
@JacobsMama: wow! That’s awesome. I would love to hear how you are dropping your costs.

@FutureMrsSarah: Mine is around $30,000. I hope do it in less though!

Our budget was £4,000 but it looks like it’ll be £5,000 including reception & honeymoon.

10,00 was our budget and my dad gave us 7,500 as an engagement present (he didnt wanna call it contributing to the wedding because he said we could do what we wanted with it). This doesn’t include rings (no clue what my Fiance spent on my e-ring) but does include our honeymoon.

My budget is 6,000 but it will be a really small event of about 60 people. Most of the money wil be spent on venue and dinner.

@Soon2BD-CBee: Wow thats still really good! We’re looking at about £9500 but we’re trying to keep it under that (if possible haha). That too would include wedding rings and our honeymoon though. We’re inviting about 100 people though (trying to cut down from our initial 150 guest list).
@prahajess: Wow you guys are awesome! How do you keep cost so low? I guess its about location too, here its pretty much impossible to have a wedding at that cost, just the food is approximately 5000 dollars (at the current exchange from pounds).
@sbruin99: Well we don’t have a set budget but I’ve calculated $15,000 too! Since we just bought a house and need to furbish it entirely and do some building work to open up and replace the kitchen, money is a little tight so we don’t want to go over that figure.
@emileem: Wow! You can do so much with that! Personally I’d probably spend at least 10 of those thousand on an amazing trip and a really great shopping spree haha, but thats just me. However if we hadn’t just bought a house, maybe I would have been inclined to spend more. I’m sure your wedding is going to be great!

10,000 for a wedding of 25 guests. 🙂

Yeah, we’re not having a honeymoon, at least for the time being.
And the wedding industry isn’t as crazy here in Czech Rep as it is in the States, so most things are at least reasonable, if not actually cheap. My venue and food (buffet) for 150 is about $4000. I know it will be more than 5, but I can dream!
Oh, and a friend is doing the photography for free.

- Wedding: September 2013 - Pavilion at Rocky Neck State Park
After everything was all said and done, including travel expenses, my dress/alterations, ect. we spent just around $16,000 to $19,000 (not sure the total bill for the caterer since my parents contributed the money for that to the wedding)

@FutureMrsSarah: I am in the same boat completely. We are building our dream home right now ( should be done around Christmas time, YAY) so we are trying to keep that in mind with our budget. Everything in the Rockies is just so darn expensive though. We still need to finish our basement so it has been hard because we are wavering with the budget because my Fiance keeps thinking – well 15,000 would finish the basement for us… and I totally agree and have a hard time with that but still want a nice wedding too…

@prahajess: I’m not from the states, (I’ve actually never been) but things are still pretty expensive here. Just my ceremomy venue it almost $1000 and we have an amazing deal on food and partial alcohol which is about $28 per person but we will provide all the decor ourselves. I’m not catholic so the typical cathedral people get married in, isn’t an option and I could get married in my church but all my friends do and it just doesn’t go with what I envision. Photography and videography will also be about $2600 for both which is quite the deal (here at least). I have had acquaintances who’ve spent about $7000 but that has been with everyone paying their own meals rather than giving a gift.
This is our ceremony location.
If you can see the white building on the corner, that is our reception venue, note the projection of the queen wouldn’t actually be there on the day of our wedding (was just a Jubilee thing). (I don’t have any photos of the inside of the venue but this is what it would look like at night).
& this is the outside of the venue during the day, the beach is just off the terrace but that carpet won’t be there and obviously the decor will be different.
Note: Prices are approximate since I’ve used the exchange rate from pounds to dollars.
