Our budget was $30K before we started planning and realized how much things actually cost. We will spend about $50K for our wedding this summer.

The amount we were given by our parents was 30K…we really wanted to stick to that, but between a way too expensive dress, honeymoon, and holding the wedding outside of NYC, we’re now around $48K for everything. *cries*

Our budget is $10,000 for 125-150 people (leaning toward trying to get it to the lower end of that range). That doesn’t include the honeymoon or our rings.

We’re having the ceremony and reception on our college campus, which saved us about $1,000 of what we would have paid for the original venue we were looking at. And a family member is a chef and is catering our wedding. We haven’t figured out the cost yet, but hopefully it’ll be less than if we went with another caterer. Also, my fiance’s sister and brother-in-law have an amazing wedding photography business, and they’re doing our photos as a gift. Hopefully with all these savings we’ll actually be able to stay within our budget.

Ours is around $13,000 for 125-150 people, excluding the honeymoon.  Some major savings have come from my dress ($200 with alterations), rings (cheap or heirloom), and flowers (DIY out of my dad’s huge garden).  We’re splurging on photography ($2500) and spending a lot of food and drink by necessity ($4500).

Started with 5k and then went to 10k. Although this doesn’t include the cost of my dress, his tux, gifts, or rings. It’s purely how much we’re spending on just the guests etc…

It seems like we’re at around 8k right now and it will be less after I re-sell decor.

Venue $1800 (for ceremony and reception)

DJ (for ceremony and reception) $600

Food $3,000 but I expect to be a bit less even after taxes and such

Rentals (dance floor, table, chairs, dishes) $1,000

Booze $700

Decor (including a lot of  DIY re-sellables and stuff we can use in day-to-day life) I THINK I’m at around $1,000

Invites and STDs > $200

Favors $137 but these are mason jar mugs and they helped reduce the rentals cost, and if guests don’t want them they re-sell easy

My wedding is a minimum of 64 and maximum of 88 guests

Our budget is 5K but I’m really trying to keep it under that. I’ve found some great deals on things, my Maid/Matron of Honor is having a similar theme for her wedding so she’s letting me borrow a lot of stuff, a family friend is probably going to end up taking our wedding pictures for $200, my aunt is officiating, so we’ve found ways to cut corners.

$30k for 150 people. Not including rings or honeymoon. Yea, I tripled my budget, it was originally $10k. Don’t know why I thought I could pull that off Embarassed

Our budget was originally $24k including rings but not honeymoon…after all was said and done we spent closer to $30k for about 100 people (each parent set contributed $8k and we paid the rest).  We were so fortunate to have so much support, and there are only 1 or 2 things I’d go back and redo less expensively, so I think we did  a pretty good job! Boston area is so expensive, even in the suburbs.

I was pretty blessed and didn’t have a budget. My wedding w/o rings and honeymoon was just under 90K

Originally I thought we could do it for £6-7 ($9-10k); we quickly realised we would not get the wedding we wanted on this budget in our area.

Our budget is now around £21k ($32k) excluding the rings and honeymoon, which bump it up to around the £27k ($41k) mark.

Way more than we ever thought we’d spend, but we only plan on doing it once, and want it to be a day for everyone to remember for years to come; there were also some things we just didn’t want to compromise on, like the photography, catering and rings, which have driven things up.

Where we live is expensive, and even if we’d hired a village hall, got in cheap caterers and provided just one meal, and bought our own drink, I’d had a cheap dress, we hadn’t had flowers, etc, we’d still have been looking at around £10k; for us it was worth spending the extra to have our ‘dream’ day, rather than still spending a fortune, but not having the day we wanted and then regretting it.
