$10k. And after everything is said and done, we’ll probably have spent $10,500.

I had $15k in my head when I was first engaged. Once looking into it further I settled on $20k but I think it will end up being about $25k once all is said and done.

Ugh. For our intimate Destination Wedding with 18 guests, we’re spending about 8K. Then we’re having two family receptions for our big families who live 1000 miles apart: those will be covered by parents, and will be around 1K each. THEN we’re having a party for our friends for another 5K. Plus a mini-moon for 1.5K. So… 16.5 THOUSAND DOLLARS?! I thought I was having a small, low-stress, low-cost wedding. Surprised

My Wedding budget is going to be like $5,000. If it wasn’t for the fact that I am trying to pay off some debt from my student and car loan, maybe it’d be like $10,000. Keeping it under $5,000 is already extremely tough, considering the venues I’m falling in love with are already $2000-3000 and catering is like $1000-2000. (I wanted to have a potluck, but my Fiance and Mother-In-Law didn’t like that idea!). And it’s my Fiance who wants to get married more than I do. If it was up to me, I’d pay off all my debt first and then get married, but he’s very adamant about getting married soon. Luckily I already have $1400 in savings, and we still have a year to go!

My parents gave us $25k for 125 people. We ended up spending $18k and got to keep the remaining $7k. This doesn’t include rings.

We didn’t go in with a budget, but if you include pretty much everything (rings, honeymoon, etc.) then it’s about 25,000 probably. Not 100% finished, but there is just a few small things left to get so I think that’s a safe number to put out there lol We probably paid for about 5,000 of it and got help from other family members, mainly his parents.

Our budget is $3,000 wedding $2,500 honeymoon. We’re 22, live together on our own and pay for our own college  (boomer sooner!) so money was tight to begin with. This includes 320 invited and an estimated 230 coming. He’s going to be a music teacher and I’m going for children/music ministry so we’ll never really have big money or the ability to go on larger vacations in the future and wanted our honeymoon to be fantastic.

Our budget will be between $20,000-$30,000 for approximately 80 people. My parents are paying for the wedding but my Boyfriend or Best Friend and I want to pay for the honeymoon (2 weeks in Italy and Greece). I’m thinking that I’ll be able to do it closer to $20,000, especially since I’m going to follow the tips in this book that people say really helps keep the budget in check. Plus, I’m not having a ton of guests, so I’m hoping my budget will be okay.

With wedding, rings, honeymoon, etc, we’ll probably be at $55K. To think I originally planned for $15K – I had no idea how much things cost. WTH!

@barbie86:  Even if we’d hired a village hall, got in cheap caterers and provided just one meal, and bought our own drink, I’d had a cheap dress, we hadn’t had flowers, etc, we’d still have been looking at around £10k.

This is quite true although we’re hoping to do it more cheaply than that. We’re probably going to hire a village hall for our wedding reception and so far I’ve estimated that it’s going to cost around £6,800 for a civil ceremony and room hire; hire of the hall; a 3-course wedding breakfast and hog roast evening reception for 90 guests; drinks; cake; flowers/bunting/decorations; and entertainment. I really want a good photographer to document the day, which will probably set us back another £1k. I’d be really pleased if we could do everything for around £9k including transport, outifts, and wedding rings… Early days yet but we’ll see!

So, to answer your question, our budget is no more than $14k.

We could afford more but we’d rather put the money towards buying our first home together when the time comes and we’re working at the minute on the premise that we’ll pay for it all (although I expect our families might contribute towards, say, the flowers or the entertainment to help us out).
