we didn’t do favors because I don’t really like them. food favors are nice, but the tchotchkes are usually just crap that wind up in the landfill. instead we posted signs on the tables that stated the money went towards a charity.

I am doing a variety of favors so there is something for everyone and I wanted them to be things people would actually use…so they don’t end up a “box of dust.” I’m a total DIY bride too so these are pretty “unconventional” LOL. All of my favors are going to have a little ribbon tied around it with a message card. Here they are:
Smores – wrapped in celephane with the message “S’more Love”
Flower Seeds – “Let Love Grow”
Dice – “Take a Gamble On Love”
Sunglasses – “Blinded By Love”
Decks of Cards – “We Got Dealt A Hand Of Love”
Aspirin – “Party On And Take Two In The Morning”
Candy Bar – “Our Love Is As Sweet As Candy”
Hope this gave you some ideas. Most of these are really cheap too!!

Our favors were glass cake domes. Each couple/family got a dome with a mini cake inside (our baker was AMAZING and worked so hard on all the cakes!). After eating their cake, they got to take home the dish. They were great and everyone loved them.

amanda1988: since my colors are plum and gold, I was thinking of doing a few Ferrero Rocher trees (example below, but with purple instead of pink accents):
Either that and/or some succulents in gold pails:

Our favors will be homemade 10 oz soap bars in a variety of fragrances & some will be herb infused. They will be packaged nicely in bundles of 3. They’re always a hit around the holidays and come in handy for fundraisers. My family & friends always ask for them and even pay me to make them a couple. I couldn’t think of a better favor—something they can use & something I know everyone loves

We did custom champagne glasses. Kind of funny to think about people having those in their homes now!! haha
It actually was a smart move for us because our venue doesn’t typically host weddings, so we would have had to rent the extra champagne glasses anyway. Overall, people seemed to like the favor!

- Wedding: May 2014 - Talega Golf Club, San Clemente
I made two separate favors for my wedding, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.
The ceremony favors I made were vintage handkerchiefs (all colors and patterns) wrapped up to look like roses, tied with a green ribbon (to simulate leaves) with a tag that reads “For Your Happy Tears”. Here’s a photo:
The Reception favors I made were simple glass jars with corked tops, filled with Pearl sixlets, and decorated with washi tape:
I actually ran into a male guest from our wedding at another friend’s wedding, and he was using the hankie he got at our ceremony as a pocket square, so cool!
I even decied to unload my extras on ebay and Etsy, and have been making favors and roses for the last few months for extra income. Score!
