Hello! My wedding is officially 5 months away and I figure it’s time to start looking for my wedding band! My dilemma is that my engagement ring is set extremely low and close to my finger – I’m not sure if I want a curved band to wrapa round it or a straight band (so I can possibly wear it alone). I don’t mind how a gap looks so that’s not a big deal to me. I also can’t decide if I want a blingy band or just a plain one, maybe with some engraving on it. Any and all opinions are welcome! Sorry for the huge pictures.

Milgrain, engraving, twists, etc. are all nice, subtle options that could stand alone and not compete with your engagement ring. Then again, a classic eternity (full or half) band would look stunning. I would recommend that you go to a store and try on a few options. Good luck!
My wedding band actually sits flush with my engagement ring, but I really like the look of a gap.

Miss-Mauverick : Oooh I love the milgrain! I do need to go try some things on, the only “trying on” I’ve done has been with cheapy costume jewelry in Kohls haha. Thanks!

You’d have a pretty big gap with a straight band. Even still, I’d personally prefer a gap over a curved band. An open wedding band could be an option. There’s so many ways you can customize the look. It would sit flush to your engagement ring and you could wear it alone if you wanted.
There’s a picture on this thread where someone used the open band to fill the gap between the wedding ring and engagement ring. That could be an option as well.

I have a similarly low-set engagement ring (mine’s a bezel) and a normal band would have meant a huge gap, which I didn’t like. I went with a curved ring. I love my rings together so much, I probably would never wear my band alone. When I travel, I leave my set at home and wear a stand-in.

j_bishae : Oh i like the look of the open band stacked on top of a wedding band! That’s definitely food for thought…. I wonder if it would be more prone to snagging on things though? Maybe I’ll buy a cheapy one to test it out.

I think I have seen on the internet that there are bands that are c-shaped. The “c” could lay flush against your ring, and the gap could be where the protrusion of your current ring sits. Your ring is beautiful!!

I love your E-ring!
I think something like this would compliment it, and could be worn alone without looking like it’s missing something!
good luck!

ktb19 : I don’t know if this band would work with your ering band, but it may complement the stone. I love these floating diamond bands:
