This is a very minute detail, but I can’t decide if I want my wedding colors to be cream, red, and gold, or cream, black, and red. So I’m here asking for your opinions. The reception decorations are red and Ivory. The bridemaid dresses are red, and I’m thining of adding a gold belt to the dresses, and then having the honorary bridesmaids(my fiances sisters) wear gold dresses. Or I can skip the belt, and have his sisters wear black dresses. Then I would have my wedding cake colors match the wedding party colors. What do you think?

I think that ivory, red and gold is more elegant romantic than ivory, red and black. Red and black are used together a lot and i personally think it’s just too bold. I love the idea of ivory, red and gold!!!!

I also like the idea of Ivory red and gold…but honestly – why not all four? If you went with red, cream and black you would need a metal color for any metal trimmings and details anyways (chargers or maybe a votive holder for example). Gold seems like it would be the obvious choice.
Having 2-3 colors will be a thing of the past soon enough 🙂 I like the idea of the gold belts though!
PS. when is the wedding? Is it really 2 months away? If it is in may – black seems rather dark for a spring/summer wedding.

I personally dislike gold because it reminds me of grandmas… and I think black looks so classy and elegant!

Thanks for your opinions!
@suburbian: Ya, the wedding is in two months, I’m kind of procastinationg on some of the details. haha. Our original color scheme was ivory, red, and black, but when I saw the belt with the dress I decided to possibly nix black for gold.
