- Wedding: April 2009
I’m getting married this summer and have not yet decided on my colours or centerpieces. The ceremony is going to be outdoors in a garden overlooking the ocean and the reception is indoors at a golf and country club also overlooking the ocean. My dress is light ivory (warmer tone) and is quite formal.
My fiancee and I want to have an elegant wedding, yet make a statement as well. We are torn between a few wedding colour combinations,
1. turquoise, fuschia, orange
2. turquoise/aqua, butter yellow, ivory
3. aqua, coral, ivory
We were thinking of using primarily roses for the bouquets. What colour preferance do you have, and can you suggest any others?
Regarding centerpieces, we were thinking of incorporating a beach theme using either square or fishbowl centerpieces. The tables are long and rectangular so we were thinking of making blue table runners and having shorter centerpieces along the table, perhaps alternating every second one. We were thinking of beach centerpieces with shells, sand, starfish etc… in the glass containers surrounded by voultives. On the other hand, we were considering alternating with roses in our wedding colours as every second arrangement. Would this be too busy? Another option is to sprinkle rose petals in the wedding colours across the table or to sprinkle small shells and starfish instead. I really like the idea of the beach theme but don’t want to overdo it.
Any comments, suggestions or link would be appreciated!
