We made our place cards into wedding favors! We used acrylic tiles with a small hole at the top with a string and had a calligrapher write names on them in gold – they doubled as Christmas ornaments. We had very few left behind!

We are doing wooden glitter names for each guest that will also act as place cards and extra decor as well as a lolly bar with bags for guests to take some home with them ๐Ÿ™‚

Our wedding is outside in the summer. So we’re getting a bunch of fans and attaching a tag to them. Guests will take a fan before being seated for the ceremony and then for lunch will check the table number on the tag. I’m just hoping they get used during the day to keep people cool. We’ve also got a bucket of mini sunscreen bottles and a big bucket of water bottles in ice.

We are planning a chocolate truffle pick and mix. Well the guests get an empty 9 piece chocolate box, we are going to have 14 different chocolate flavours available in the buffet, and let guests fill up the 9 spaces with their favourite flavours โค๏ธ not the cheapest option but atleast the guests would be able to get involved and pick flavours they enjoy as opposed to assuming (as some people like nuts and some dont)

Amborella Organics makes cute little organic lollipops with flower and herb seeds inside the biodegradable sticks. If you buy them in party packs, they come out to $2.25 a piece. They’re really pretty too

Less than 2 weeks!  I had the idea of combining reception centerpieces with favors – candy! Hershey kisses and M&Ms in my colors.  People can scoop and eat at the reception, but their place cards also serve as favor boxes (and organza bag inside too to get more!) to scoop and bring home!

Our reception was at a restaurant and they are known for their lemon cookies so we had small bags of 3 cookies each at each of the place settings.

We had a beach theme for our wedding so we got these flipflop bottle openers as souvenirs. I DIYd the napkin rings in this photo. They were not supposed to be souvenirs but some of our guests took it home. We also had a photobooth so our guests had photos from the event. ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking back, I hope we didn’t get these flipflop souvenirs anymore since they were not really noticed during the wedding. A lot of our guests flocked to the photobooth. Good thing we were able to distribute the leftover souvenirs during our second reception.

We’re doing little pots of local honey for our favours! They were very reasonably prices at $2/pot. I find edible favours are always my favourite at weddings! ๐Ÿ™‚

tullekitty :  I can’t love this any more!! We are also doing a tea theme and I play hockey. Never thought to mix the two haha. We have teapot centerpieces and a tea bar. Our favors are heart shape tea strainers in a teapot shaped box. Our tables are pretty plain so the boxes will add some color.

We are doing little lobster buoy ornaments. I’m hoping people will take them home and use them on their Christmas trees. we didn’t put our names or date on them, they are just painted in our wedding colors. We are going to attach our escort cards to these.

surfingabi :   our colors, cake topper, napkins, etc are those of our favorire hockey team the Vancouver Canucks. We also plan on doing a ‘hockey’ photo with everyone in the wedding party wearing a hockey jersey. We met on the Canucks forums so we really wanted to incoprate hockey  into our wedding.

The tea is just a added bonus and we keep finding cleaver ways to mix it in with hockey.

I actually got a bit of negative feedback from the bees when I said I was doing succulents as favours. A lot of people said that many would be left behind… we had 136 guests at our wedding and only 7 left their favours! I’m not sure if everyone actually took theirs, but my guess is that other people scooped up the ones that were left and brought home multiple!  I still have people telling me a year later that they love their little succulent ๐Ÿ™‚

i went to a local greenhouse and asked them for the “in the back succulents” that were basically not transplanted to pots yet and just came in this giant plastic tray. They charged me a dollar per succulent.

Then i picked these little terra cotta pots up from the dollar store (4 for 1$) and painted them gold, put the succulents in and voilà! It took a few days to do them myself, but they turned out super cute! We put them on a few wood crates on our entry table and they doubled as name cards. I got a cute hexagon hole punch and some nice cardstock, wrote names and table number in calligraphy. I wish our photographer took a picture cause that table looked sooooo nice! ๐Ÿ™

Here is what one looked like before we put names on them.
