Wedding planning taught me that I really love to plan weddings, so I am going into the wedding planning business. It did also teach me who my true friends and family are. It really is amazing how some people act when it comes to wedding stuff.

That just because you’ve been a wedding planner/coordinator for years does not mean you’ll have an easier time planning yours.

And yeah, sadly, that you learn a lot about how your friends suck sometimes.  Or in my case, pretty much all the time. Boo.

That no matter what happens, at the end of the day, marrying the man you are meant to be with is really all that matters.

Oh, and having more than a year to plan is crazy…I wish we had a much shorter engagement

I totally agree with you on this one, @KendallR10

Part of me wishes we did a Destination Wedding, because we moved in the middle of our engagement and long distance planning is tough when it’s at your parent’s house. At this point I just want a venue that can do all the logistics for me!!

When people always told me,

“Weddings and funerals bring out the best and worst in people”

…they were right.

@ohheavenlyday: hahah SO TRUE

That weddings really do bring out the worst in people!

That if you can survive engagement you can probably survive anything

That party planning is not something I enjoy.

That I am much more apathetic about all thing wedding related than most women. (even more so than I thought going in!)

That the whole process is a rather ridiculous.

And thanks to weddingbee, that my friends and family are pretty dang awesome!

That I’m even less conservative than I thought I was.

Seriously – I don’t know how you ladies all do it!  Weddings ARE my job and I still have issues with things.  And I get to sit right here at my desk, like I am RIGHT now, ‘working’ and being on the ‘Bee and it’s totally ok 🙂

Wedding planning has taught me that I never want to be the bride who gets so caught up and obsessed with the little (and big) details that don’t matter in the long run. At the end of the day I’ll be married to a great man who I love, doesn’t matter if my flowers wilt, hair falls flat or my photos don’t come out exactly the way I want them.

@ohheavenlyday: hahha right?! thats a great one.

wedding planning has taught me to save my pennys (seriously) i was never a good saver… between the time i got engaged and got married i saved a good chunck of cash – i was so sad though, i never had that much money at one time in my savings and then i had to let it go one check at a time.

@ohheavenlyday: yup. agree!

That I CAN be organized and plan things on a budget without going on an all-out shopping spree and buying into the wedding industry.

Plus, I’m learning that there is SO much you can do cheaper by making it yourself.

Not to mention laws that you’ve never heard of regarding getting ordained and what alternatives one has due to said laws.

Oh, and, and I’m actually enjoying planning a wedding and that there are many ways to irritate families that are both religious and non-religious.
