Truth is, I got so scared! We were on vacation on the beach and he started saying beautiful things to me while I was thinking “OMG he’s proposing !! “. I hadn’t seen it coming, I was totally surprised. Of course I said yes, I had known for a long time that I wanted to marry him and I was actually starting to feel worried that he hadn’t proposed yet.
But I initially freaked out about what just happened, I was so scared at the thought of being a WIFE. Plus I currently live with my parents (very commom in my country) and I have a great relationship with them, so the thought of moving out made me feel immediately scared. Of course I recovered from the shock just a few days later and have been happier and happier ever since.
I keep reading just wonderful proposal stories here about how soo happy everyone feelos, so sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one that has ever felt that way…

I love these! I’m giggling like crazy reading everyone’s stories and thoughts. Thank goodness I’m not the only one that couldn’t hear anything over the heart pounding. Also @mspanda13 I think many people have a moment of panic; the night after it happened I was in total shock. Because you’re committing to a life changing moment, but he’s your new family (an addition to! you’re not leaving anyone behind), and when that sinks it’s so incredibly exciting 🙂 and, as they say, “it just feels right.”

my fi chose to propose in my mother’s bar on quite a busy night. i remember thinking ‘get up, get up’ i don’t like being the centre of attention but my Fiance loves it, so the proposal was right for him, i do think it is quite sweet that he wanted to share the moment with everyone there at the time. i would have preferred a more private setting, but thats just not his style… nope walking across the bar microphone in hand, dragging me from behind the bar whilst singing was Fiance at his most comfortable haha…

I was on the way home from school (I’m in college) and he called me and asked where I was. This was a little annoying to me because he always does this and my school schedule is ALWAYS the same. I was like “uhh I’m on the way home from school…you know what I do every Tuesday.” He said “okay hurry up.” I said okay baby I’ll be home in about five minutes. I get home and he was on one knee when I opened the door. All he said was will you marry me? He had the HUGE smile on his face. It was so cute and sweet. I love him 🙂

I don’t even remember what he said! I don’t even think he was making sense though, he was so nervous haha. I just remember thinking “Aha I knew it!” because he had been planning this date for a week (and he nevers plans our dates) and then insisted we go to this special rock down by the beach, where we used to hang out the first summer after we met and where we had our first kiss. We hadn’t been back since that summer and I always secretly wondered if he would pick that spot to propose eventually 🙂
I also remember thinking how anxious I was to go change my relationship status on Facebook to “Engaged” LOL…

Here is whats on my wedding site
Christmas of 2010 Vance gave Alisha A Promise ring to Marry him down the road- She said yes and kept that promise. They went strong but reached a really big bump. Things did not look good and they almost separated forever, however when a bond is that strong you find a way back to each other and that is what they did.
Sitting on the couch in March of 2012 Vance asked Alisha if she would marry him. She said maybe he’d have to ask her on one kneee and with a ring. Again a few weeks later he asked her will you really marry me, she told him yes but she wanted to be asked the right way.
So in May they took a trip down to her home town and picked up her Great Grandmothers ring. Her dad wanted to see him do it so he leaned over and said “This isn’t legit” and practiced asking me to marry him. It was awkward but funny.
A few weeks later we went and got the ring fitted and re-sized. I knew he had the ring and had told him NY would be an amazing place for him to do it but he could do it wherever he wanted.
So we went to Centeral park on June 1st and that is were it happene d
it went a little like this:
*Walk up hill* -top of hill- Him”So Alisha- I know we have our ups and downs but” Me:” Oh my gosh its really happening- blank out- see his mouth moving and try not to do that stupid cover my own mouth thing…. “the box didn’t fit in my pocket so I can’t open it or anything…but here it is. *reaches into pocket*” blank out again through a little more talking as he gets to one knee. “I love you so much, will you Marry me.” “Giggle* “yes” *giggle*” Hugs and kisses eeekkkk lol It was really romantic- of course! and its not like I did not know or anything- but this is for real now- like we made it throught the rough stuff- so we can make it. we are going to do it! Vance Green you are my best friend. my partner. my companion and my rock! I love you with all my heart and I know you are the MAN for me- even if it has taken us forEVER and 5 proposals! I LOVE YOU!

The morning of my surprise proposal, I had put in the offer for my first house. I was non-stop checking texts and voice mails with my parents and realtor. I got the counter offer, I counter-offered, and this was all happening in Manhattan as we were going to the top of Rockefeller Center at sunset. After a few minutes, Fiance literally takes the cell phone out of my hands to propose. My first thought?
“I’m trying to buy a house here!”
10 minutes later, my offer was accepted, and I’m sitting in my first home this very minute. Soon to be OUR first home.

“That lying jerk!” Simultaneously, “OH MY GOD THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”
See, his proposal went like this: First he lied to me about the ring – he bought it online about a month prior and said he still hadn’t gotten it. He did call the place a week before about it and, unbeknownst to me, they sent it via overnight shipping (for free) the very next day. So he lied about the ring. And he sort of tricked me into going to a certain place, AND made me think it was my own idea. (He is very proud about that.) Therefore, he is a lying jerk 🙂 I love him anyway.
Here’s my ring:

We had a mini vacation at a beautiful hotel in New Husband on a lake. And the whole day I kept wanting to go down to the gazebo..I really like gazebos. So finally we go..after we see a couple get married at the gazebo lol.
It had been raining off and on the whole day..so when we get down to the gazebo I start taking pictures of the lake..and I happen to see a rainbow..which was so pretty right over the lake. And after realizing he’s behind me not talking..I turn around..he smiles..and I smile.
Then..I hear all these nice things about me..something about I’m the most beautiful woman..and I totally zone out. I’m thinking, “Oh my god..I think he’s proposing! He’s saying such sweet things! Oh I’m so happy, it’s finally happening! Is he still talking? Oh no..I have no idea what’s he’s said. I’ll just smile and pretend I heard everything.”
Then he got down on his knee and popped out my ring. And I don’t even think I said anything..because I started crying and held my hand out. Haha. I have a picture of me after this happened.

- Wedding: February 2013 - Mansion House at the MD Zoo
This is hilarious. I just had to ask Fiance if he had said anything when he proposed because I zoned out as soon as he got down on one knee. Apparently I started crying and screaming yes before he said anything, and he had to be like, “wait, back up, will you marry me?” Go me. Then he made me eat before we called families or anyone. Oh, and I spent the rest of the night alternating between going “oh my god is it really real? really?” and dancing around. And peeing, because when I get excited apparently I pee a lot. Nothing but class. 🙂

I kept saying to him “SERIOUSLY?! SERIOUSLY?!”. I didn’t hear a word he actually said. I just kept thinking “What? OMG he’s doing it NOW! I thought he said we had to wait. How did he get the ring? That’s the ring I wanted! He’s on one knee!!! That explains the champange in the refrigerator. Make sure you say YES!”
Later I requested he ask me to marry him again. He was confused. I told him I wanted to have the memory of him saying those 3 little words again since the actual proposal was such a blur.

I got engaged last week and quite frankly, 2 hours after it happened, I actually asked my fiancé (*gasp*) what he had told me because I had completely forgotten already ! lol
I was completely spaced out, thinking “OMG, OMG, this is happening, this is it!” and I was crying the whole time.
That’s the only thing I “regret” : it goes by so fast and I can’t remember what he said but my fiancé told me he would write everything down for me so I can keep it forever. <3 (Yeah, yeah, corny I know ! :-p)

We went away for the weekend and had dinner at our favorite getaway restaurant. After we finished eating, Fiance paid the check and excused himself to go to the restroom. He eventually returned and said that someone dropped something under the table. Before I knew it, he quickly hopped down on the floor looking for it (or so I thought). Since he was still on the floor, I decided to look under the table to see what he was looking for but didn’t see anything). When I sat back up in my chair, I looked up to see Fiance still on the floor in front of me and there was a little black box in his hand. (Me being silly was still wondering why he was still the floor). On bended knee and in front of everyone in the restaurant that evening he proposed. I just heard it’s been 5 years and …… I totally blacked out!!! I was in such shock and disbelief that I forgot to say yes. Instead I went on to say OMG are you serious for at least a minute. Someone in the restaurant yelled “say YES”!!! According to Marcus, it was five minutes later before I said yes. After I said yes, and he placed the ring on my finger, the entire restaurant cheered and celebrated with us. It was a night that we’ll never forget.
