Great thread!

A little emergency kit – baby powder, bandaids, tampons, tissues, etc. Anything you think you may need in case something comes up. I put a little one together for peace of mind.

I had a ‘day-of’ kit but the only thing I used was deoderant at the end of the night. I also organised a door list at a night club for the people that wanted to keep partying after the reception. At a friend’s wedding a few months before ours, everyone congregated to one room and it got TRASHED ! In saying that though, our guests were refused entry at said nightclub because we were all too drunk

Take the hair elastic off your wrist. 🙂

ETA: I didn’t actually forget to do this, but I know it would really bug me if I had!  Your photographer would probably remind you, but try to remember just in case.

This is super random but we forgot to get cute baskets to put the programs in for the ushers to hand out and had to get someone to bring them.

Make sure if there are things you want done a certain way at your reception, make sure someone else knows! For me it was our hot cocoa toast. I made these mugs with Mrs and Mr on them and our wedding date, super cute mugs and wanted them to look pretty when we toasted, a cinnamon stick, candy cane, whipped cream on it, so it LOOKED nice but forgot to tell my mom who got them ready for us when we were taking our cake cutting pics and they are these ugly, half full of just plain cocoa mugs in the pics. 🙁

Make sure the stuff you need for leaving is somewhere you can find it! We got all ready to leave and realized stuff I had used to get ready at the church like deoderant, my toothbrush, my change of clothes and all that were still in the bridal suite, not our car!

I got married last weekend and I have just a few:

  • Double check how you would dance in your dress with your bustle! I went to the seamstress to pick up my dress the day before and I guess I never realized how long the lace overhang was in the back during my other fittings. We had to leave the dress with her so she could add a bustle to the lace layer of my dress.
  • Bring 2 toothbrushes! I had one at the house I got ready at and threw it in one of the bags before the ceremony. My mom ended up taking that bag back to her hotel room and I didn’t have a toothbrush that night (at least the hotel had mouthwash!)
  • Tell your Dear Fiance to let you know if he leaves somewhere… Someone asked my DH to go out and smoke cigars and he never said a word to me. He was gone for almost an hour and noone knew where he was! I was livid.
  • Definitely make time in between pictures and the ceremony for you to relax with the bridal party. I had an hour and a half break and that was my favorite part of the day.
