allinoelle:  I was just looking at my DH the whole time, so he was mostly on my mind, kind of like a “this is it” moment. My legs were also shaking uncontrollably so I was focused on not falling.

allinoelle:  I was trying to remember to look and smile at everyone but at the same time I was trying not to look at any one person for too long. So I’d be thinking “Oh! there’s aunt blahblah *smile, eye contact* okay, now break eye contact. Don’t want to be creepy.” lol

ETA: I totally forgot to look at my man the entire walk down the aisle. My dress was hemmed well for walking and not for going up the 5 stairs to the top of the stage. I stepped on it each step and it was horrifying.

“Holy crap, this is it!  It’s finally happening”

Also, I kept looking at all the guests and smiling and saying hi and I completely forgot to actually look at my DH.  Doh!

These things all at once:

This is really happening!

There he is!

Stop contorting your (my) face into the ugly cry!

Don’t trip!

It was a combination between “don’t trip… So shouldn’t have worn heels… Why didn’t I just go barefoot?!” And “oh my gosh, DH looks so happy. I never see him smiling like this… Is he crying?! He doesn’t cry! What alternate universe have I stepped into?” Then when I actually got to the bridge next to DH, I could focus on the big pivotal “I do” moment. 🙂

Oh man. Walking down the aisle is kind of weird!  I’m a very experienced public speaker and it still freaked me out a little… basically all the most important people from all the places of my life were there and they were ALL LOOKING RIGHT AT ME!  My two main thoughts were (a) don’t trip and (b) don’t cry your eye makeup off!

My main thoughts were, “oh god, don’t let my heel slip into the slats between the deck like they did earlier!” ( the gaps between the deck planks were a little bigger than my heel) Also, my DH looked like he was about to cry and overcome with emotion so I had this super goofy grin on my face trying to get him to smile for photos. I was trying to telepathically send him the message “smile hun! Smile! We are getting photographed! Smile!!!!” He told me later the reason he wasn’t smiling was because he was about to keep it together, so sweet!

Honestly I think my mind went blank, because I do not remember walking down the aisle. I remember taking my grandpa’s arm, hearing the music change, seeing people stand and.. that’s it. Luckily I tuned back in right before the vows lol!

We walked into the ceremony space together (which was an outdoor patio overlooking a glacial lake).  I think I was thinking, “Finally this day is here!”  We had a very long emotional journey to that point.  My father died during our engagement (actually a month before the former wedding date).

There he is. Wow. I love him so much.

I’m crying. How am I going to sing when I’m crying.

I’m so happy.

I love him, and there he is, and we’re getting married.

Oh wow, I’m still crying.
