As the doors opened, I just remember bursting into tears. I remember my uncle (who walked me down) whispering for me to slow down because I was walking too fast! I was thinking, “wow, this is the moment I’ve dreamt of my whole life!”
I don’t think I looked at anyone, but I could be completely wrong. I remember taking a couple peeks at DH, but he was tearing up too so I tried not to.
I was thinking about not walking too fast and my posture (because my mom told me right before the ceremony that I was hunching too much haha). It was a bit awkward at first because everyone was looking right at me, but they were all smiling and that helped calm my nerves. In the end i was just thinking about how excited i was to get up to that altar!
Don’t trip, don’t trip, don’t trip…’Dad watch out for my dress!’… don’t trip, don’t trip… look at all my friends and family and OMG MY ALMOST HUSBAND LOOKS AMAZING…. don’t trip…

Then I almost went straight up to him for a hug before our celebrant stopped me and reminded me what the plan was!
My foremost thought is how deeply grateful I was for all the people who came to celebrate with us, and how lucky my husband and I were to have all our immediate family still in our lives…We lost some people very close to us, suddenly and tragically, very shortly after the wedding. I’m so glad that I took the time to be grateful for having them in our lives as I walked down the aisle.
