Pure luck.

I was in a “don’t want to be in a relationship” phase when I met my Fiance. We began casually dating, but when my mother passed away after we had been dating for about 4 months, and he was there for me in a way that I didn’t expect, I realized what an amazing man I had and things got serious.

I had just ended an engagement and I guy I worked with decided he wanted to set me up! I was just trying to be nice and accepted the date… I never thought I would end up marrying him! As soon as we met and started talking I knew it was different though!

I had joined an online dating site because I was sick of being single always and I was gettin’ old.  That said, I didn’t think I’d actually meet anyone – I looked at the dating site as just a way to increase the number of guys I met.  I tried to have zero expectations.  I chatted with a couple of guys, went on a couple of dates with one guy, and then went on a date with DH. After that date, I kept telling myself “have no expectations, have no expectations” but everything went so smoothly and it was all great and so wonderful and the end:)

I met him at work and thought he was attractive but a bit of a dick. I just got out of a relationship, I was 20 and wanted to have fun so one night after closing the restaurant, we went out to play pool and had a couple  drinks and slept together. I meant for it to be casual but I just couldn’t stop wanting to be around him. 7 years later, we’ve been married for 8 months and are currently ttc. I now realize how wrong I was about him being a dick haha. He is so wonderful and just the best man and partner. Still, we have a joke that we’re really bad at casual sex. Tried to have a one night stand and ended up marrying the guy. F*cked that one up in the best way πŸ˜‰

Oh this is good, I like this. First of all, he was a set up by one of my professors in college (turned out to be his mom lol). He was a one night stand to me. I met him at a bar and thought ‘what the heck!’ Spent the night with him and then I never left HA!

Super luck!! I met him while I was on a 6 month dating hiatus. It took the relationship aspect totally off the table and allowed me the time to really slow down and get to know him. We even had a couple get togethers with a bunch of friends so nothing was rushed. One week after my hiatus was up he asked me out (I didn’t tell him I was on a hiatus until we had been dating so the timing was natural).

We were friends and had a fling the summer before leaving for university, he drunkenly asked me out properly a few days before we moved 4 hours apart. It shouldn’t have worked but here we are getting married! I’m so lucky that we grew in the right directions together πŸ™‚

He had gone to one of my roller derby bouts then came to the after party where he bought me a drink and chatted me up. That happens a lot so I didn’t really think anything of it but he got my number from a mutual friend. We went out on a date, then a concent with friends, then more dates. A month later he was a little drunk and standing in the ocean telling me he loved me and thought we’d be together forever… It took me a while to agree (lol) but he proposed at 11 months and I can’t even imagine being with anyone else ever.

Mine was a “Why not?” essentially. No regrets and all that!

He actually asked to buy me a drink about three times before I accepted. Being a moral drunk, I said no as he shouldn’t waste money on me as he didn’t know me. He came out with the VERY smooth line of “Why don’t we get to know each other over a drink?”

Cue over four a half years later, we are getting married in August 2016 πŸ™‚

I had signed up for an online dating site after having my heart stomped on by my ex. He was the only guy who wrote me a normal email and we had the best first date I have ever been on. The rest is history πŸ˜€

I was casually dating at the time and not looking for anything serious, but when I met him I just knew that he was different and that we had something special.

I met mine at work too, but normally I wouldn’t think of dating someone from work but he seemed worth it.  BUT  When we got talking quite a bit he was telling me how he was sick of dating and didn’t want to date anymore bla bla bla so I was super sad because I was like oh man, I really like this guy and he doesn’t want a girlfriend! Crap!

Well he asked me out for lunch when he was passing through my city and figured it was just a friendly thing and was thinking, ok well he has to pass by on his way home so he might like me more than a friend if he asks me to see him again the next day.  He did, he called and asked me out to coffee the very next day and the rest is history
