I was on BC for 10 years, and I had no issues coming off. I ovulated regularly the first month- the cycle was a bit long, but still normal. and three months later, pregnancy happened.

@swissbride: I had wonderful skin for the five year I was on BC. After I came off BC, I started getting little bumps on my forehead. My skin also went from being smooth to feeling really rough.
So I went back on BC, but then it became worse! Long story short, I think going off and on again threw my hormones out of whack.
My cycles were pretty normal. Started out being 37 days, then gradually went down to 31 days.

my sex drive zoomed. my first period was very painful. my skin turned oily and i got alot of zits. i was only off for about 3 months. i’m wondering if my skin would have regulated itself after a bit longer.
i’m really looking forward to going off them in september.

I was on it for about 15 years or so. Coming off was fine, but my periods are way worse than when I was on the pill. The horrible cramps I had pre pill are back, yuck.

I went off Nuvaring kind of on accident, my parent’s insurance I was on ended before my new jobs kicked in and we couldn’t afford my prescription. But I lost five pounds, got a sex drive back, my face broke out and I got a period a month and a half after I got off.

@swissbride: I went off last April. The only issue I had was with my mood! I was on an over sensitive up and down for about a month. I cried at the gym!
Now it’s been a year and I’m kind of missing the pill just because I had a simple 3-4 day period and now it is much heavier (I have to get up in the night at least 2x the first day) and lasts longer. And my cycle is shorter- anywhere from 23 to 26 days.
I recommend downloading an app to keep track of your cycle- it is really helpful an I love having all this data!

I’m about three weeks from getting off the pill. So far, I’ve had some weird menstrual like cramping throughout and I was seriously bloated a couple days before and after ovulation. I’m guessing it was hormonal because there is no other reason that should have happened. After O, I’ve had some shooting pains in my breasts (but I know that I’m not pregnant since we aren’t trying yet).

@OhBeeHive84: wow wow wow. You poor thing! I have heard all kinds of things about Yasmin. Crazy that it can have all these unbelieveable side effects and still be on the market! Congratulations on your BFP!!!! A July baby awwww!!
I downloaded Ovaline, definately going to keep track of what’s going on…even if it’s in a bit more relaxed mind-frame. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for all your responses I will report back with my own symptoms in about a week!

I didn’t have any symptoms except my skin getting worse. I went on BC as a teen to help my skin.

For one week that began two weeks after my last withdrawal bleed, I had the following symptoms: SORE nipples and breasts, cramps (including sharp pains in one ovary), nausea, fatigue, bleeding gums, sensitivity to smells and constipation. It was enough to convince me that I might be pregnant.

I haven’t noticed any changes with my skin. My cycles aren’t regular anymore like they used to be, I was always 28 days before. Now it’s 28-33 days. I’ve only been off of them for a few cycles now. My cramps are worse now, too. I lost my sex drive while I was on them, and still no sign of that coming back yet!
