@FloretteLiz: You have a very good point, thank you. I do still have the issue of them being a bit more than I wanted to spend. I think maybe I need to do some more research on the cost and perhaps I oculd go with a little smaller nest than planned. Thanks for the suggestion. I did just post about it so I really didn’t mean to jack the thread ๐Ÿ™‚

We did giant homemade cinnamon rolls, made by a nearby amish community’s bakery.

To tie into our theme, we attached thank you stickers with love birds on them. Of course, a sub-theme of our wedding was “delicious and simple” (burger bar, cane sugar sodas, etc), so I think the cinnamon rolls tied into that theme, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m doing sunflower seeds in little glass jars from Ikea since the groom is from kansas and might have a Carrie Bradshaw quote on it like, “My my, they sure do grow em cute in the midwest” or something….not sure about the last part.

We’re doing 2oz jars of honey from my favourite spot in BC.  I was thinking of attaching a little honey dipper if I can find them for cheap enough.  Otherwise we’ll just attach a cute thank you note with a piece of twine to match our rustic-ish themed wedding.

We are doing two flavors of hand made choclate truffles. My mom and aunt took a few classes on this so we can bang them out at home!

For my daughters wedding, we are doing mini bottles of Marinelli’s Sparkling Cider (we are creating favor tags and placing them around the top with ribbon)  We found these bottles for fifty cents each at Kroger!!!!  I don’t know how much cheaper you can get!

We are planning to give a jar of dry ingredients so the guest can make their own treat, like cookies, bread or (cup)cakes. I love to bake and my fiance has recently gotten into baking as well, he loves to cook mostly but it’s a special activity we enjoy.
