Pads, ugly underpants, ugly sweatpants, a water bottle to keep next to you so you don’t forget to drink water, easily accessible snacks so you don’t forget to eat, one nursing bra (get another one when you’ve figured out what size you’ll actually need), and a comfortable robe 🙂

Posting to check back on this thread later… I’m due in 7 weeks (ahhhh!! when did that happen?!) So far I have lots of thick overnight pads with wings, Tucks pads, flushable wet wipes since I’ve heard dry toilet paper is awful after birth, New Mama bottom spray (it’s a cooling mist kind of thing for soreness down there), big ugly underwear, a comfy robe, panty liners (although those are more for right now too), nipple cream…gah, it’s so much!

I am not due until july but i have been keeping a list in my phone of things people put on here!

1. padsicles… Take very thick pads, smear aloe vera, then alcohol free witch hazel then a couple drops of lavendar oil – put into plastic baggies and freeze.  The person said to make about 24 and they are really relieving.

2. Frozen meals/ready made snacks

3.Wet Wipes

4. Snacks and money for vending machiens at hospital

5. Vitamins/supplements to help with milk flow.  Others said to order them ahead of time so you dont have to send your dh out all over town looking for them.  Whether you use them or not, who knows.     The ones recommended were Fenugreen to help increase the amount that comes out and lecithin which helps clear milk ducts  and reduces infection and more milk plus mothers flow.

6. Formula even if you are breast feeding in case it doesnt work out.

7. Of course nursing bras/nursing pads/nipple cream

8. Hemroid Cream

9. super soft toilet paper

10. stool softener

11. flip flops for hospital shower

Obviously you need lots and lots more stuff for the hospital but the rest I think you would already know to bring.

Thanks for  bringing this topic up again!  Going to start making a list and getting things little by little so it’s not one big hit amongst the many expenses of baby’s homecoming!

11 days postpartum here. Things I found essential– several nursing tanks that clip down, soothes by lanisoh (recommended by lac consult.), and  epsom salts for soaking

@CindyRelly:  lol i am guilty of that too. I literally bought walmart, 3 dollar for 6 pairs of huge underwear and threw it in the nursery knowing I wouldnt wear them and now if they are all dirty – i am like upset when I have to wear my thongs. I havent gotten any of those things I mentioned yet! I need to start though
