@berkie: I have been seeing more and more advertising for swept waves and longer hair. A very romantic look. Gone are the hard sprayed pin curls and tiaras.

Yikes.  But updos, really?  You think so??

I think we’ll revert back to one dress for the entire event instead of this ‘reception dress’ trend happening now.  I think the DIY trend will also fade away as the economy (hopefully!) improves and people go back to paying people to do things.

Even when the economy was good, a lot of people DIY’d stuff. I think it’s much more fun and personal to DIY than just to buy some generic crap.

@Zinzerena: Oh absolutely.. those things are in and trendy now, so when people look back they;ll say “that was such a 2010s style” which isn’t bad, it just is what it is

@abbyful: totally agree about DIY! I have always loved crafts and making things. I wanted to do even more DIY projects just because I think it’s fun, but my mom wouldn’t let me do everything (like our flowers b/c she was worried we wouldn’t have time).

we are also having a lot of rustic & vintage elements, which I realize is very trendy on wedding blogs right now, but I can’t imagine any other style for us. Fiance is a country boy (from middle of nowhere farmtown in KS) and I am very laid back and low maintenance – anything more fancy/urban/modern/etc. wouldn’t be a reflection of us.

I am fully aware that our wedding might scream 2011 when we look back on it, but I don’t think that will make me regret any of our style/decor choices. I honestly love that I have so many inspiration pictures to use for ideas! it has made the stressful planning process much easier for me.
