    I carried a bouquet of flowers my girls carried lanterns. The guys had fiddle head fern bouts and my son carried a wreath with the rings tied to it.

    @yanamari:  Your welcome. You can find any shape, color, style at Pier 1. I got these lanterns there for $10 each.

    I had my florist attach similar flowers to my bouquet on the bottom of them but they look really beautiful without the greens on there too.

    my BMs caried faux fur muffs. It was winter…. I had a bouquet but they had the muffs. I also got them matching capes for outside photos. The mend had pocket squares that matched their ties, but the groom has a bout. Didn’t think it was fair for the girls not to have flowers and the guys to have flowers… plus saved me money! $20 for the muff.

    As Fiance and I met in fencing club, they will be carrying foils.

    We haven’t decided on exactly what yet, but it will likely be nonfloral or fake floral.

    @Pearberry:  I love that!

    @MissHobbit:  Thanks!  Several of our BM’s are teachers and we’re hoping they can use them as pointers after the wedding!

    I don’t know…puppies?

    We are having trouble deciding. Part of me wants to do something a little more interesting/original than just the ‘maids carrying bouquets. We met playing chess, though, and there’s not really anything that could work into that.

    I thought about having them walk in to the Nataly Dawn cover of Magnetic Fields’ Book of Love, and if so they could carry books, but then what would they do with them? What purpose would that serve?

    Ugh. Can’t think of anything, so it will probably be flowers.

    Our wedding was “book-themed” so the bridesmaids/groomsmaids carried books with a fern tucked in them. It looked really classy – we supplied the books, so they were nice hardover copies of our favorite books (that we already owned). We got a lot of compliments and it made for some fun picture poses.
