I gave them their jewelry, which was nice and they both picked out, that was about $70 and I also gave my Maid/Matron of Honor a gift card for a massage

That is about what I will be spending… I bought a freshwater pearl set that was originally $70 and bought them at $25 each, shoes were $10 each, and I will get them something else small as well. I think it all depends on your budget. I am having as small wedding with a very small budget (under 5k). I think the gifts should also be proportinate to the size/type of wedding. I personally wish I could spend more, but with 4 girls that is all my budget will allow.

You guys are really generous. I’m incredibly broke after spending 30k on a wedding… I just bought their shower host gifts and spent about $10 on each of them (cute reusable shopping bag, pair of sandals, a cute big sucker, and a reusable travel mug) and for their actual bridesmaids gift, I got them each a pair of pink fresh water pearl earrings (ran me I think $60 total so $10 each again) and I

ll get something special for my Maid/Matron of Honor, I just don’t know what yet!

ETA: I forgot, I also paid $50 towards each of their dresses– so I guess I did spend about that much, OOPS

I am making my maids care packages in reusable shopping totes, and I am couponing for the contents! Its going to be a health and beauty care package, and I am getting killer deals! Some examples, nail polish $0.72, foam pedicure toe seperators $3 for 6, bath and body works hand sanitizer and body spray $1.96, and the list goes on! I will also add something else, but I am not sure what just yet. I am on a super small budget, so I thought this was a neat idea 🙂

@tranquility: wow, I guess you have no choice but to just tell her, or find something similar and cheaper and just say ‘I thought this suited you better’ ?

A small vera bradley cosmetic bag, a glass nail file, nail polish, satin-ish pajamas, and hopefully jewlery for the wedding.

I spent around $75 each on my girls (I didn’t super closely keep track).  Here is what I got them:

I budgeted about $30 for each Bridesmaid or Best Man, because I have 6, and we’re very tight on money.

I ended up getting them each a seperate clutch and a super sparkly bracelet that I wish I could keep haha.

I really wanted to give them something that was heartfelt and that they could use again, so I took a burlap tote bag and on the front I put their Initial. I am making glass pearl necklace, earrings and bracellet and it will go in this little jewellery chest. I monogrammed wooden hangers for their dresses, a bridesmaid tee-shirt and a pair of bejewelled sandles. I have also put together an emergency care kit for the day of the wedding and a heartfelt note. I am giving them the bag at the bachelorette party so they can use everything the day of the wedding. Here is my cost breakdown:

Tote Bag(x4) – $8.00

Jewellery(x4) – $20.00

Sandles(x4) – $8.00

Hangers(x4) – $8.00

Tee-shirts(x4) -$20.00

Emergency kit(x4) – $40.00

So, $104.00 for all 4 girls.

I got my BM’s the monogramed tote bag from the knot.com but got a really good deal on them.  I think they were less than $10 each.  I’m also giving them a bracelet from jcrew that ended up being about $7.  And I just got them awesome gold clutches from Coach yesterday for about $55.  Thanks 30% off coupon at the outlet mall!

@Mrs.KMM: ok, I REALLY like some of those ideas! Especially the wine glasses! Where did you get those made/bought? (and the other ideas)

hmm lets see, this has been an ongoing project for me.I wanted their gifts to be different and something that was personal for them as well as for me. First, I wanted to give them bags (oversized purses) so I went to hobby lobby and got simple bags and painted their intials on the bottom of each of them. I am no artist, I used stencils. That was about $5 each. this allowed for that personal touch. Now I had to fill the bags so I got each of them individual shot glasses that were hand painted. $15 each. Each shot glass matched their individual personalities.  I also got them burning sage. $5 each. I follow wiccan rituals, so I wanted to give them something that allows them to clean their surroundings and get rid of bad energy. This represents me in their gift. I also got them incense (calming) $5 so they could be calm for the wedding and for me. Lastly I got them a clutch bag to go with their bridesmaid dresses. $15 each. So I am currently at $45 each. Im thinking of adding a wind chime in there which are about $15 each. All gifts inside the bag I bought online which helped the price.
