@stephko99:  For my girls they got coach wristlets stuffed with an emergency kit (tissues, nail file, advil, band aids, etc), and gift cards (sephora and vs).  I also made them jewelry (supplies purchased from artbeads.com) and a macaron coin purse.

We got our girls earrings + Vera Bradley cosmetic cases filled up with “emergency” things they may need (mints, tide sticks, bandaids, lip gloss, etc.) Even if they don’t need it at the wedding, its such a cute little bag to throw in your car, pocketbook or desk at work and always have everything you may need for any thing that can come up while you are away from home. Plus, I’m known for always having every single thing you could possible need ever in my bag all the time, so its a very “me” like thing to give someone.

We are getting the boys each a bottle of scotch 🙂

My fiance got his groomsmen flasks with their names and something special engraved into them. One of them is a smoker so we found a flask with a cigarette case built in. His best man is very religious, super religious so we got him a 1820s revival book from a minister back in those days.

For my bridesmaids I got my Maid/Matron of Honor a peridot necklace with matching earrings. For one bridesmaid I got her a pearl set, ear rings, necklace and bracelet. For another bridesmaid I got her (and she’s super religious and also is going to school to take care of children and has gone to Africa on mission trips to help orphans and teach them about her faith) a 1920s “Teachers book of bible lessons with simple verses hymns and nature talks” I’m not sure what to give the last bridesmaid yet, but then again I don’t even know if she will be there and she wont know until the week of so I’m stuck on that

I got my bridesmaids each a gift set from Bath and Body Works with their favorite scent and a matching pearl necklace and earring set. For the guys, my husband got them each something different depending on their interests. One groomsman got a wine aerator. I forget what exactly the other guys got.

I haven’t gotten everything yet but here is my plan:

Maid/Matron of Honor

  • Tote bag with her name and quote from Twilight which she introduced me to and we both love
  • A really nice bra probably over $100. She’s quite busty. She hsa a kid and is preggers and is on a tight budget and I know she doesn’t treat herself to “nice thing” for herself. And I recently got an amazing bra that actually fits and I love it!

Bridesmaid 1:

  • Tote bad with her name and “I like big BOOKS and I cannot lie…” because we love the song and actually have a horribly corny dance that we made up to it in college. And she likes to read.
  • The book Freakenomics. She hasn’t read it and she’s very analytic so I think she’ll find it really interesting.
  • A good bottle of wine. She will have recently given birth and I know it was hard to give up alcohol for the pregnancy. I realize that she will be breastfeeding but I think she’ll still be able to either just haev a glass or a half glass or pump and dump.

Bridesmaid 2:

  • Tote bad with her name and a graphic of my favorite quotes from Firefly which she introduced me to and which we both love.
  • A cool framed print of an image from the Hubble telescope. She’s an astrophysicist and some of those images are breathtaking!

Bridesman 1:

  • Some sort of hunting equipment. Not sure what because I don’t hunt but I’m going to beg my hunting uncle for advice.
  • Good bottle of bourbon

Bridesman 2:

  • At least 1 funny T-shirt. Like with pictures of “Paper, Rock, Scissors, Lizard, Spock”. He wears them all the time.
  • Cooking classes in his home town. He always complains that he doesn’t know how to cook. He loves getting out and doing stuff. He is always looking for good ways to meet girls!

That’s what I’ve thought of so far. I’ll undoubtably think of some other things. I tried to think of each person individually rather than of everyone as a group.

Also: The guys will be getting a tie and socks to wear on wedding day and the girls will likely be getting some sort of jewelry. But I don’t count those as gifts, personally. I’ll also probably pay for hair and nails for the girls.

The girls are getting a monogrammed tote bag with emergency supplies in it… mints, emery boards, tissues, lotion, etc.   They’re also getting a monogrammed spa robe to wear the day of while getting their hair and makeup done.  Also giving them their wedding jewelry…. earrings and possibly a bracelet as well.

The guys are getting their ties and socks, but we haven’t decided on anything else yet.  Possibly some booze and a pilsner glass with their initial on it.

I got these swarovski bracelets for all my maids – still waiting on my Fiance to get the guys items.  We are going to give them at the rehearsal dinner.

I’ll give my bridesmaids (two) a traditional same (native Swedes) bracelet made of reindeer skin, pewter and reindeer horn (the button is made of horn).

Our best man: either a bottle of Canadian Whiskey, ice-wine or these candleholders:

Our flower girl will get a necklace made from the same line of jewellery as our wedding bands.
