I kept my original middle name

I dropped my original middle name and took my maiden name as my only middle

I kept my original middle name and added my maiden name as a second middle

I dropped my original middle name and took my partner's last name as a middle

I kept my original middle name and added my partner's last name as a second middle

I didn't have a middle name to start with, and I took my maiden name as a middle

I didn't have a middle name to start with, and I still don't

I don’t have a middle name and my current last name sucks, so I’ll be taking his last name and never looking back.  🙂

I have:  First name  Middle name  Maiden Name-Married Name.

Our kids have a first and middle name.  Their last name is my maiden name hyphenated with DH’s last name.  My parents love that my kids have my side of the family’s last name in their name.

When the boys marry, their wives last name will be Sm***-St*******.  My DD said that when she gets married, she’ll just add on another hyphen to her last name!  So she will be J**** E******** Sm***-St*******-NewLastName.  I said she’s going to carry one heck of a long last name!!!  She said she didn’t care!  Love that girl!!!

@McVerde: I have 6 siblings and every stinking one of them has a middle name so it makes me feel especially left out Frown. Then again, my dad doesn’t have a middle name either and my name is derived from his so that make it a little better.

I dropped my middle (wasn’t too attached) and now my maiden is my middle name. I’ve heard it’s a Southern thing to do it that way. I was really surprised to see most people didn’t!

It’s kind of a problem because of the way Montana’s drivers’ licenses are. On the first line is the last name, and the second is the first and middle. So it looks like:

    Lastname

    Firstname Middlename

So when people look at it, they usually just see “firstname middlename” which sounds like a full name cause it’s my old last name and tell me that my ID isn’t right or I’ve given them the wrong one!

UGH!! I have always had a love-hate relationship with my last name. It’s very German, my grandpa was the first person in his family to be born on Canadian soil. So although its a huge PIA to spell and pronounce, it’s part of my heritage and I am very reluctant to let go of it. I’m not married yet, but I don’t know what to do. When I was younger I couldn’t wait to get married so I could change my name!

I love love love my last name and like the sound of my first and middle together, so I will be keeping both in the form of MiddleName-MaidenName. A hyphen seems easier to me since I can still have the same middle initial.

If I really could choose I’d have my middle name added as part of my first name.

My maiden name is now tacked onto my middle name.  Technically I now have 5 names, but they make me ME.  🙂
