The name Michael. or is it Micheal? Worse part is its DH’s middle name. I always switch the a and e!!!

Definitely is also a bad one for me, it came to mind from the title before I saw the OP.  I always want to stick an a in there instead of one of the i’s.

I also can’t remember when to use licence vs license.

@thursdayschild:  in the UK favorite/favourite does have a u, so I wouldn’t worry 😉

Weird.

I thought the rule  was “I” before “E” except after “C”… so this one stumps me every single time. To remedy this, I instead bypass the word altogether and write things like: “that’s odd/bizarre/strange”.

@asscherlover:  In school they taught us “there’s a rat in the middle of separate”.  That’s the only reason I remember how to spell it

I’m typically a pretty good speller, but I always have to look twice at argument (doesn’t seem like you should drop the e) and want to put a d in refrigerator, like when you spell fridge.

These are fun! My worst words are:

Separate

Desperate

Refrigerator

Ugh. Seriously, I have 2 college degrees (one with a minor in English!), and I still cannot spell simple words?!

@Lolasmomma:  Definitely is my word too! I’m not sure if it’s even spelled right now! I hate it because when I’m writing someone and I want to say it but I can’t get the spelling right I saw “for sure” instead and I hate how that sounds!

All of you who misspell “definitely,” how do you misspell it? I can’t figure it out. Do you put an -a- in for the second -i-? If so, just start with finite (like finite vs. infinite) and add the prefix and suffix.

License and Calendar always get me.

@cora_123:  I’m the same way with Michael!  Although I now just moved to Micaela Way and have to keep telling myself – “the A and a E are in ABC order!”.
