This is an awesome thread! I would say definitely something to track budget with. The seating chart, the registry. A place you can plug all appointments into. If I think of anything else I’ll post again. Oh-and when this app comes out–let us all know!

Budget is a good one

timeline / calendar

a way to track vendors

tasklist

maybe tabs or pages that are categorized (dress, decor, invites, etc) where you can add photos from your phone….

seating chart

guest list – also a way to keep their contact info there too

 

if i think of more i’ll come bak – love this idea!!! 🙂

I like that tabs suggestion, sort of like the ‘planning binders’ but all tidied up. I think the most useful part of the binder I have was the list of questions to ask when comparing vendors and a chart to list all their contact info and their answers to such questions. 

Guest list tracking would be nice (add in any info you need to know like vegetarian options, needs accommodations, etc), maybe a fitness aspect to it as well, whether it’s a calorie counter/healthy choices list or something to keep track of workouts until your wedding.

Ditto on the app announcement, I’d love something comprehensive all in one tiny package!

A shopping list so I can keep a running tally of what I need to buy where (Dollar Store – xxxx, Michaels – XXXXX). Also, I think taking photos on your phone and being able to add them into different sections would be awesome so if you saw something in a store or at a wedding show they’re easy to find again. Emergency contact list for vendors and the wedding party. Ability to share that contact list easily (via email or whatever).

It would be awesome if any appointments or whatever you put into the app would automatically go onto the iPhone calendar. I hate having things all in different places, it’s a recipe for disaster!

@bakerella: This! Yes! Being able to take photos, tag them, file them, and find them again easily. Maybe even a prompt for you to fill in where you are when you take the photo.

I have a bunch of bridal apps and the only one I really use is the one with a forum where users can ask each other for help or vent or something – it’s like weddingbee to go.  🙂  It also has a tab with answers to various FAQs, like etiquette.  It doesn’t do much else, unfortunately. 

I think if I were making your app, I’d have a guest list section that can link to my phone’s contacts so I’d have addresses and numbers along with a total count (including my guests’ +1) – and somebody above also mentioned having it keep track of dietary preferences, which would be great.  My guest list is a nightmare, though, so I might be biased.

Also, a list of my vendors would be good, and I should be able to call or email them from my phone by selecting them straight out of the list on the app.  That would be wicked convenient.

It would be awesome if it could upload/download from excel.  That way a lot of things like the guest list doesn’t have to be typed in if you already have the info.  

It would be great to have built in tasks like the Knot, but also have customizable tasks.
