Signature/superideal cut – AGS 000 only. It really, really makes a difference.

Color: I like all colors, but for white diamonds that would be no further than H – high I color.

Clarity: eye clean vs2-si1

Carat: no more than 2.5 bc I don’t want my ring to be the first thing people notice about me. It gets enough comments as is.

And it really depends on the lab where the stone is certified. My round is an AGS D si1. My jeweler is extremely knowledgeable and does tons of appraisals on serious jewelry. In his opinion the stone is an E vs2 and he encouraged me to send it to GIA for the rating as he said it might increase the value. I didn’t want my stone traveling around without me so I declined lol.

Cut:  Excellent

Color:  D-F.  I went to a diamond seller and she put the different color levels of diamonds next to each other and then also mixed them up to see if I could see the difference.  I’m extremely color sensitive so I noticed the color difference immediately.  Some people are not as sensitive.  With this said, if I was going for an antique ring with an antique cut, I wouldn’t mind a warmer color diamond.

Clarity:  VS2 and higher

Carat – This is the least important to me.  If I love a particular diamond, and it looks great with a setting I want, I’m least concerned with this aspect.
