Hmm I would say anything over 2 years. Fiance and will be engaged 2 years and 8 months when we get married, and I consider it a long engagement.

Anything longer than 1.5 years. I definitely consider 2 years a long engagement even though it seems to be pretty common on here.

I think anything over 2 years is long. My engagement was only 8 months, and that felt rediculously long at times.

I’ve been engaged for almost 6 years. Pretty long I would say.

Considering your post below….

BrideAddict92
I’m sorry I wouldn’t consider anything under 3 years a long engagement you should be grateful that you don’t have that long to wait. You should step into my shoes I have to wait 5 years. Stop stressing out and try to enjoy your planning and look forward to your wedding just count your blessings 🙂

Sorry if this sounds rude but anyone saying that under 3 years is a long engagement needs a slap in the face as they are not thinking of people having to wait longer and their worries of things going wrong, watching people getting married and having kids before you etc

I think I know how you feel about people who have had 2 year engagements. Hope you don’t offend anyone on here…

anything over 1.5 -2 years. My engagement will be 6-7 months! We’re conservative and waiting for sex/ moving in together. Anxious and excited for that step.

Anything over two years. I feel like two years is increasingly more common. When we were booking vendors, many of them were completely booked on Saturdays from 18 months out — so if you’re planning a year-long engagement, you were out of luck for a Saturday wedding.

That being said, our engagement will be almost 3 years (33 months) and that is a long time to wait.

BrideAddict92: I was going to say anything over 18 months is long… now I’m thinking that is a short engagement!
