Over 18 months is long to ME. I don’t care what anyone else does.

Anything over 1.5 years, I suppose. I think ours will be close to 2 years. I know someone who’s been engaged for 15 years and people who have planned a wedding in 6 months. It doesn’t matter really when you intend to spend the rest of your life with someone

six months is a long time without a set date. I have friends in college who planned to get married after graduation sometimes a year or two in the future. BUT YEARS on end, hell to the NO. I respect all the ladies that rode that out but not this girl..no way

I think of anything over 18 months as “long” just because I guess I have that in my head as the average. My fiancée and I will have been engaged for a little over two years (26 months) when we tie the knot next spring. It’s what was necessary for us financially, and I’m happy with the way it’s worked out 🙂

BrideAddict92:  Anything over two years. Most venues are booked a year out.  My husband and I had an incredibly short engagement period, a month, because we didn’t have a venue picked out.

I hear most people usually are in engaged anywhere from a year to a year and a half, but I would consider anything over 2 years a long engagement.  My fiance and I have been engaged since September 2012.  So we will have been engaged for 2 years and 10 months and I consider it a very long engagement lol.  Feels like forever ago when he popped the question!

My husband wanted to get Married within 6 months as he doesnt understand waiting longer until we got engaged haha,  he soon learned it is not easy to save for a wedding in such a short amount of time so we had a 20 month engagement and whilst it was the only way we could do it as all paying for ourselves. However I felt it was wayyyyyy to long !!!! I wish we only had a 12-15 month engagement max.

I never wanted a long engagement, so our 5 month engagement was perfect in our situation. Anything over a year would have been long to me. But for other people, probably 2 years.
