Im having a birthday party, moved after our wedding and made some new friends here; what do you do with hubby’s friends and family, are you supposed to invite them, too? I started hanging out with some of his friends but dont really consider them close since I just barely met them, are you supposed to invite them too asa courtesy to your hubby? we were long distance so I didnt really a get a chance to get to know them and feel weird celebrating with relative strangers, I’m more familiar and at ease with the friends I made on my own; I am close to one of his friends who I invited, but the others I feel are too distant to me to really want to celebrate with, it’s such an effort to entertain different groups when I just want to relax and have fun. yeah, maybe after I hung out with them more, but some of his friends I only met only once or twice and not at that stage where we are buddybuddy yet

If it is your birthday party, I don’t think you have to invite his friends. Invite yours and the people you would want to spend your birthday with!

I would only invite your friends to your birthday party. Just don’t talk about the party with the people who aren’t invited.

yeah thanks! That’s how I feel too my hubby said the same thing, just invite my friends and his friend I am closest to.In England they celebrate all the 0 ages, I’ll be turning a big 4-0. We had a going away party in NYC I invited many different friends I knew from my different circles,it’s a bit difficult trying to make sure everyone feel’s at ease and not left out when people at the party dont know each other well, I probably should have celebrated with them one group at a time; that’s why it’s easier when everyone is at ease at a party with each other and knows each other well, makes for a happier party and less hassle for the hostess, me! All my friends here all know each other so it’s fun to hang out

i wouldn’t invite anyone where you’ll spend your time entertaining, rather than being entertained, this is YOUR bday! have fun with your friends!
