- Wedding: January 2011
So long story short (I’ll try to be) i invited my childhood friend to my wedding we were close for 10 years then i moved away and have been in another state for 5 years i have gone back to the state to see her / family / friends every year. Some years we haven’t scene each other. Well i invited her to my wedding she came and traveled out of state and we bonded and everything was cool. She felt like we re connected and now she has invited me to her wedding which is only a month away.
She called me 3 months before my wedding and asked me if she was still invited to my wedding because i wasn’t invited to hers. I was hurt that she didn’t want me at her wedding but then told me over and over that she was only having a small destination wedding in Tulum Mexico and only 35 people were invited. She asked me if i had only had 35 people come to my wedding would she have made the cut and i said no. Since i have more than 35 people in mine and husbands immediate family.
So a couple of days ago i get a phone call and she is like i feel really bad and i want to invite you and your husband to our wedding.
Well all in all i would love to have fun with other friends and her at her wedding I just can’t jusitfy a trip for 4 days being over $1000 (because it’s spring break). Also my husband wouldn’t be able to come so i have decided not to go.
Should i feel bad for not going?
Also since she came to our wedding and gave us a gift on top of spending the money for travel how much is appropriate?
