I know it’s WAY to late to get a different dress or anything drastic like that, but I’m in a bit of a pickle;
When I started my search for a gown, I didn’t go out looking to buy a sample; but when the store owner offered it to me for a fair percentage off the price to order it new, I was quite happy. One of the main reasons for purchasing the sample was due to it being in perfect, pristine condition – it looked like it had hardly been tried on!
So, I purchased the sample (paid 50% deposit) & it has now been paid in full. The boutique has been looking after my dress until I go back for alterations.
I went in to order my veil a couple of weeks ago and noticed that there is fake tan/bronzer on the inside of the gown, buttons missing at the back & the bra-type clasp at the back is broken. I asked the store owner if other brides had been trying on my gown; apparently they “absolutely have not” and I must not have noticed the damage/stains. I am pretty upset about this attitude, as there was NOTHING wrong with the dress- no stains or missing buttons/catches, when I paid my deposit.
I have my fitting this weekend and am absolutely dreading it as the store owner is being completely rude to me (she seems super offended that I could suggest that my gown is still being used as a sample).
I just don’t know what to do!! Should I put my foot down and demand that she pays for the drycleaning (or something similar- I just don’t think it’s right that I purchased the sample which was still expensive & she has been making further sales though my dress & I just want to make my point). Or is it not a big drama & I should just deal with it to keep the dress experience enjoyable?
I’m just so mad… could just be work & wedding stress making me be unreasonable 🙁
