I feel for you, so sorry this is your experience…especially with your wedding right around the corner.

I don’t have knowledge on how the process works when buying a sample. It seems reasonable that the shop should provide the dress to you in a clean condition at a minimum, ie. no makeup stains.

Maybe there is a way you could diffuse the situation and then get what you want? I’m thinking of killing her with kindness and I’ll try to think of a more specific solution…

I would! If it wasn’t damaged before but is now… SOMEBODY wore it. And I would be PISSED!

Oh that really sucks.  If I were you, I’d go back in with some backup – maybe a mom or an assertive friend – and stick it to the store owner.  Have you checked out reviews of this place to see if anyone else has had issues there?

She should have offered you free dry cleaning.  When you buy a sample and they store it for you it should be kept in the back and only come out when you look at it.  I would get the sample and keep it at your house if you can.
