@garden_bride:  I would have voted “call it quits” IF your bridal party hadn’t already invested $ to buy their dresses… but since they have already I would just stick it out…

What happened? Drama is lame! I would hope that everyone could put their differences aside on your special day. Give them a chance to redeem themselves :).

Because they bought dresses it to late to call it quits unless you plan on reimbursing the girls.  Its crazy how a wedding can cause so much drama.  I am starting to feel like my Maid/Matron of Honor and I are going to have a huge falling out after my wedding.

Stick it out or pay them for their dresses.

Is the drama significant enough to lose friendships over?  If I were told, after I’d bought a dress, that I was no longer wanted at the side of one of my best friends and she was returning my money, I’d be really offended.  I mean it kind of sounds like you’re already leaning towards cutting them off, but I’d try to make amends and continue on.

If you pay them back for the dresses then you could get rid of the bridal party.

Are you able to work things out with your friends?

If you truly believe that it wouldn’t end the friendships, which I’m assuming you want to maintain, then call it quits on the bridal party. Weddings are stressful enough, no need to add to it with unneccessary drama.

At the end of the day (or month, year, etc.), are you going to remember having your closest friends and family standing and celebrating with you or riding in a cool car?  I feel like having a bridal party wins out In My Humble Opinion.

Why can’t they have their own transportation? I’m not providing transportation to my reception for my bridal party. That way you can have your cool car and have them too.
