do you have pictures?  I think we’d be able to give you better advice if we saw just how bad it was.

I’m sorry to hear you don’t like your dress!  Do you have any pictures?   That might help you to visualize what you can do to make the dress more like you want it.  And was the dressed made to your size?  Usually there’s plenty of room at the bottom for it to be hemmed… how could it be hemmed if it wasn’t measured with shoes on?

I don’t know what to tell you, but perhaps if you really hate it you could check out the sales rack at your local bridal salon and see if there’s any dresses you can buy off the rack.

Can you get a less-poofy slip? I’m assuming it’s something poofy if it makes something less flat, though I could be wrong.

I’m assuming you’re wearing shoes while trying on your dress as well. Could you get different shoes with a shorter heel?

P.S. – I’m only half kidding about buying it off you.. PM me if you do decide to sell it pls!

Can you take some pics of you wearing it so we can see what it looks like and try to help you?

@jagboo33: When you tried on the slip they gave you and you didn’t like it, did the store’s ladies do anything to help you? I think you need to have a solid talk with the store’s alternations person (or elsewhere!) and let them know exactly what you need. Perhaps the combination of a less poofy slip coupled with shorter heels or even the addition of more fabric on the bottom so it doesn’t appear too short will all help, but you need someone with an expert eye to guide you and not leave you stranded. I’d work with the dress you have since your wedding is coming up in March. Hope is not lost! Just find the right person to help you. 🙂

OMG…that dress is frieking stunning. Who is the designer? Sorry..I got distracted. Could you possibly get a less fuller slip so that the dress doesn’t hang so short.
