Hi ladies! I have a dilemma and I need the hive’s help. I found my dream upgrade ring and it is by a seller on Etsy. Her profile says she studied jewelry making in the US and then when her son was born, moved back to Thailand to be closer to her family. The ring she has in her store is literally my dream ring to the t! The design is amazing and it has an Amora moissy center which is what I want! Now here is where I get leery. It makes me nervous to purchase a ring from overseas. She said that all her rings come with a certificate of authenticity, a charles and covard moissanite limited warranty certificate, and a diamond cruelty free authenticity certificate. The rings ship via Fed-ex 2 day priority mail with insurance and signature confirmation. If for some reason you do not like the ring, you must send it back to her within 3 days with insurance and signature confirmation so you know she got it. She offers a lifetime warranty, any cleanings, polishing, etc.
She said she stands behind her products 100% and should you lose a stone which is very unlikely, you can ship the ring back and she will replace it free of charge. She also only accepts Paypal. She has about 60 sales and 100% positive feedback. She only sells on Etsy and does not have a website or anything although she says she is in the process of making one. So ladies, what would you do? Everything seems legit and the fact that everything is through Paypal makes me feel comfortable because that means Paypal will have my back. I just need another opinion on the situation. Thanks ladies! <3
Oh! and here is the beauty!
1.4 ct cushion center Amora moissy, 14k white gold, .25 diamond sides and halo

Sounds legit to me! I don’t see any red flags. If it is truely your dream ring, then I say go for it!

I wouldn’t buy something so expensive and precious online, unless its from a very well known store. Etsy is kind of known but the sellers are independent. I would look somewhere else.
have you checked in these places?

I don’t see a problem, but if there is one, PayPal is on your side. Go for it!

I’ve bought several pieces of jewelry from various etsy sellers overseas, never had a problem. Everything pans out to me, I say get the ring!

@Mrs081223: They don’t offer Moissanite:(

Thank you to everyone who has responded so far!

The only thing I see is that she wants it sent back within 3 days. Confirm that it has to have confirmation that it is on its way or does she have to have it in her hands within 3 days. That has happened believe me. I worked for FedEx for 5 years and this was a common thing for shippers overseas to get you for no returns.
Does that make sense?

Do you have her name or business name? Try to do some research online to see if anyone has any good/bad reviews anywhere. Definitely check out her reviews on Etsy, too.

I think the ring is super beautiful and it all sounds legit. Her craftsmanship is extremely beautiful for an etsy seller, and I think, if I were in your shoes, I would go ahead and buy. However, if the Amora is truly an Amora, it will be accompanied by an NAGL certificate with color grading and specs, so be looking for that.

As soon as you get it, I would take it to a jeweler to get it appraised and make sure it is what she says it is. I did that with my ring even though I bought it from an American company.

The ring looks gorgeous, and everything sounds legit. I would double check the return policy, like a PP said. If it’s confirmation that it is sent to her within 3 days that’s one thing, but if she has to have it within 3 days, that’s shady.
Would you be willing to share the name of the seller? I’d love to see her other work!
If you are still anxious, have you considered buying from Moissaniteco.com or even Betterthandiamond.com directly? They both have similar rings available:

Wow, beautiful ring looks like mine! I would also be leery of purchasing online. You can absolutely get this ring made in the states by a jeweler. Just take the pic of your ring with you and see what they quote you.

gorgeous ring. it’s sounds fairly legit.
i’ve seen rings like that from other jewellery stores, can you not get one without having to buy it online? i’m sure a jeweller could find one just like that for you. if it’s a price thing, ask if they will match the price.
let us know how it all works out.
