I agree with @Wendy…  do you have any other pics of it?  Perhaps on the hanger, or even better, on you?

From what I can tell from this pic, it looks somewhat out-dated.  If you’ve had it listed for a while with no bites, either lower the price or just donate it.

That was a really sweet gesture on your mom’s part to buy that for you.  However like a previous poster, it’s a bit dated.  I personally would not pay for it.  Even by removing the sleeves, it still wouldn’t make it look more modern.  I’m sorry.

If you’re considering donating it, please look into Heavenly Angels in Need. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s an excellent cause. I know of them through my work with NILMDTS.

I also think that it is a bit dated, but would look more “in” if the sleeves were removed. I personally wouldn’t pay for that dress, but it is really pretty and I’m sure that it would make some bride really happy 🙂

I think you did the right thing. It’s extremely dated. Plus, those long sleeves and full chest would be hot and uncomfortable, I think! Your new dress is much more current and beautiful. You might be able to sell the dress to someone that wanted to do some reconstruction–take the sleeves off and alter the neckline. But because it needs so much work, it’s resale value is pretty low. Someone ambitious that wants to save money might pay $200 for it.

Personally, i think that the dress your mom bought is very very dated looking and pretty ugly. The materials are nice, but they just add up to a hot mess, in my opinion. I would first lower the price (what are you asking for it now?) and if you still fail to get any hits, after you’ve kept lowering until it gets to $50 (the material itself has got to be worth that, at least, then donate it. Where are you trying to sell it? Try here, craigslist, preownedweddingdress.com, etc.
