H color VS1, 1.57 carat, H&A, triple XXX, no fluorescence, score a 100 on cut score

I color VS2, 1.8 carat, H&A, triple XXX, no fluorescence, score a 94 on cut score

I can’t tell the difference between an H and an I…or between VS1 and VS2. An I VS2 is still really good, so I would definitely go bigger!

chanel_tr:  I’d choose better cut and clarity over a slightly bigger carat size. for the rings you were talking about and in general as well!

There really is no noticable difference in size when it comes to .2 carats. Go with the better cut, it will look better.

My Fiance was between a 1 carat lower quality stone and the .75 carat stone he chose for my ring which is VS1 color J excellent cut. I wouldnt have been able to tell the difference size wise, so I’m glad he went with the sparklier stone! 🙂

chanel_tr:  These stones are quite close in size really. Have a look at the mm of the stone because depending on cut it’s very possible the smaller stone could face up bigger anyway. Or the difference might be so minimal, like the 1.57 carat could face up something like 7.5mm and the 1.8 carat could face up 7.6mm in which case you won’t see a difference. Wither way I would pick the better quality over the bigger size

At that size I don’t think you will notice the tiny difference in carat weight.

I would examine each loose in person and make a decision at that point. One of them will “sing” to you! 🙂
