I think tapas will be more crowd-pleasing as many people don’t like eating raw seafood.

I would prefer a tapas bar to be honest, if it is hot seafood may be a little of a tricky choice

Personally, I LOVE a raw bar!! If you’re looking for the “wow” factor, that’s the way to go. If you’re looking to please the masses, the tapas bar is a better choice. However, it sounds like you have plenty (maybe too much?) other food for people who don’t prefer seafood. I do high-end events for a living and I’ve never even heard of 7 passed apps + stations at one event. Are you also doing a dinner or is it just a cocktail with heavy apps reception?

Wait will all of that seafood be served raw?  Or just the oysters/clams?  I would personally prefer the seafood, but the tapas might be more of a crowd pleaser.

TAPAS! I love tapas. Obsessed with tapas. Can I come to your wedding?

I’d love a raw bar, but I think a tapas bar would appeal to more people. I’m iffy about raw food sitting out. What if people get sick?

I would prefer the raw bar, but I don’t many other people that would prefer that over the tapas.

@jackndiane:  Wow! Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of app choices. 1/2 the fun of cocktail hour is scoping out everything that’s available!

@Natalieh86:  Typically the oysters are raw. Everything else is cooked, but served cold.

@PinkMagnolia:  They put everything on ice, so it’s 100% safe, especially for a short amount of time like a cocktail hour.

Tapas are generally more widely liked… a lot of people don’t like raw bars.

I would rather have a tapas bar, I’m not huge on seafood and a most of the people coming to my wedding aren’t either. But that’s just my opinion. I think that if you are having more than enough other food choices to appease someone who wouldn’t enjoy the raw bar, if you want it, you should run with it.
