I’m a bit unsure about having 2 dresses as I don’t want to seem over the top or extravigant.
I have bought 2 dresses for my wedding as my first dress is more formal and form fitting. I love it to death but know I will long for a flowing dress for our garden reception and for dancing the night away.
Our wedding is semi formal and quite low key so now I feel I may look silly changing into a second wedding dress.
Can have have som opinions please 🙂

I say go for it! It’s your wedding, and you should be as comfortable as possible. By The Way – that second dress is breathtaking! Where is it from?

@EnglishWifey: I voted “over the top”. If I was at a wedding where the bride changed into a different wedding gown, I’d be a little taken aback. I’d think, “Apparently one dress wasn’t enough for Miss Thang. Didn’t realize I was at J-Lo’s wedding.” Lol, then I’d get over it. Do whatever you want, and you have two dresses so just wear both of them if you want to.

They are both very pretty gowns. However, I still feel like two wedding dresses is an extravagance that the wedding industry is trying to make acceptable and trendy for its own profits, and that a wise bride who knows herself and her sense of style will be able to find one gown she is happy with and wear it for the whole day. I can see switching to a shorter, less-formal dress for dancing if the main gown is elaborate and cumbersome, but when I see a bride switch from one long white gown into another long white gown … it makes me wonder whether she is frivolous and indecisive about making big decisions.

@EnglishWifey: I don’t think it’s over the top at all! I think it’s quite common now for brides to have a reception dress. I don’t personally have one but if I come across a more casual white dress that I loved as much as my wedding dress I would totally do it. Both of those dresses are beautiful, I think you should go for it!

@KCKnd2:
haha I totally am both of those things!
But to be fair the first dress is a lot more form fitting on me than the model in the piccy. The second dress is an easier dress to wear.

I love the idea of two dresses, personally – but I’m obsessed with gowns and coutour and am salivating over the idea that I might get to wear not only one gorgeous gown but two for my wedding. I say go for it! Who cares what people think? I personally love when brides change, it’s fun to see two looks 🙂

Why not wear the second dress the whole time, with a veil or special headpiece plus your hair up just for the ceremony? That will give it a more formal look. Then let your hair down for the party!
