feathery :  If it’s outdoors and warm I would totally get a cute summer dress with pretty colors and some wedges or cute sandals for shoes. You could wear something you already have, or find something new at a good price or on sale. Don’t feel guilty! You could totally wear this again. Good luck!

I have a feeling that mine with either be on or right after my 30th birthday. I will be going shopping. Though I think I would like to wear something like this:

I had a very good idea, and I wore jeans, trainers, a coat and a hoody. We were out doing the tourist thing and the weather where we were can be very unpredictable. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had a suspicion that my proposal was going to happen the day it did.  We were on a day trip exploring different parks in Big Sur.  I am not an outdoorsy type so we were not hiking, but just going from attraction to attraction.  I ended up wearing a pretty comfortable outfit, nice capris, nice blouse, and sandals.  I didn’t look awesome by any means, but that did not matter at all!

I would recommend a summer dress with wedges or sandals.  Being that it is the end of the season, you may be able to find one on a clearance rack and you can save it to wear again next summer.

I had a really good feeling it would be happening on a fancy date night and I found this uber cute dress at target, bonus points because it was only $30

I knew 99.9% the day of mine and I wore a blue dress I know he likes and made an attempt to not sweat off my make-up that day

I say buy the dress you want… while you may not be able to wear it to work again- save it for your engagement photos later on, a date night, or on your honeymoon or something fun! He could also be purposely throwing you off! Ahhhh I love the suspense of engagements!

I had NO idea we were getting engaged on our day (but everyone else did). I just wanted to be cute for the college football game… so I did my hair up, did awesome make-up, super cute outfit…. and then I walked outside to see it pouring. Whined about it- got a rain jacket and went about the day. So I was supposed to look really pretty- as luck would have it, I looked like a really happy drowned rat! But isn’t that the fun in the story?!

Before it REALLY started to rain… in the freezing cold! (Curls already fell out at this point). Just happy to be drinking Fireball with my boyfriend! LOL

By halftime…we got engaged… in camo! #Fail

First off, try NOT to think about the possibility too hard – as someone who waited years, I ruined a lot of perfectly good date nights thinking they were going to be something more. Try to just be in the moment the weekend of, no matter what the outcome is!

BUT THAT BEING SAID: I would wear something you feel beautiful in. Something that you aren’t self concious in at all – something you don’t have to constantly tug and adjust to make sure it’s laying correctly.

brereuther :  Girl I wasted a date night being paranoid! It sucked at the time but looking back it’s hilarious that I was so on edge that night!!!

feathery :  Good- find something fabulous!!! Can’t wait to hear your story one day. Every photo we look like drowned rednecks… I swear we aren’t! Darling Husband had about 20 friends (and my parents) sneak into our football section and surprise us so it’s a great story. Just didn’t look as pretty as I had always wanted to. So if it happens and you’re not gorgeous… it’ll all still be fine! ๐Ÿ™‚

I personally would wear something already in my closet, as I know my SO loves it; it’s a dress I took to his 50th bday party last Oct and serenaded him in… Sorry for the bad quality of the pix (esp the 2nd one), but the dress kind of reminded me of that white dress Marilyn Monroe is wearing in the famous pic of her standing over a grate with the steam blowing up:

Personally, I really regret the dress I wore when my husband proposed ๐Ÿ™ I knew it was going to be a particular weekend and went nuts searching for a new dress. It was beautiful, made of tulle which I love, fancy and a gorgeous shade of blue…but the cut was just all wrong for me. It’s so unflattering and I’m really upset that all of the photos we have of him proposing is with me in this dress that makes me look 15 lbs heavier. I had another white dress I already owned and loved that I brought along for that weekend and wore later that day, and I’m always kicking myself for not wearing it instead.

I would wear something I already owned, something I knew I looked cute it that we both like. Do my hair and makeup fancier than I normally do and wear my good jewelry. ๐Ÿ™‚
