    @excitedtobeMRSF:  October 25, 2014.  It’s so hot in Louisiana and I want to get married outside, so later in the year is better for us.  Plus there isn’t as many mosquitoes out then either.

    2014 would have been nice, but we live far away from both of our families and already have three weddings we must attend (two of which involve wedding party obligations) in 2014. We wouldn’t have had enough vacation time left for a honeymoon! So 2015 it is.

    @mrsmeyers84:  We’re ‘date twins’! 🙂 And yes, fall is slightly more bearable for outdoor weddings (at least here in Florida haha).

    @excitedtobeMRSF:  We were originally planning for this year, but had a lot going on, and agreed to push the date to 2014.

    @mrsmeyers84:  Date twin!

    2014 was chosen because hopefully by then my FH will have submitted his PhD, and October because Summer is too hot for us, and I adore Autumn, the colours, the light, the temperature, the smells – for me it’s personally a very exciting time of year, I get a little thrill when it’s on its way every year! Possibly because of the way the school year works here, I’ve spent my life associating Autumn with new starts and possibilities.

    The 25th was picked because a lot of my family and friends are teachers, so my Mum requested it be in half term. The half term is different between two of the counties our friends are in (Well, one county VS the rest of the country), so we picked the weekend between the two – for some people it will be the last weekend of half term, and for the rest (most of them!) it will be the first weekend.

    @excitedtobeMRSF:  I would prefer yesterday, however Fiance needs a little stress reducing ease into marriage. He’s so funny about certain things. We already live together and in his culture that is pretty much the same as married, lol. Anyway I chose April because I wanted a late spring/early summer wedding and because I didn’t want anything else going on in that month. I like to spread out events so we have something to look forward to each month. Jan. has New Years and my son’s b-day. Feb. has Valentine’s and my daughter’s b-day. March has my sister’s b-day. April is wide open! May has FI’s b-day. June was another month I considered, but I just honestly don’t want to wait that long and it was the month I wanted to get married the first time, so no. July has my Mom’s b-day and my previous marriage wedding anniversary, so noooooo. August has my b-day. Sept. has 2 of my kid’s b-days. Oct. has Halloween. Nov. has Thankgiving and Dec. has Christmas. So there, April was the only option. I picked the 12th because I like even days, although I’m not sure if that might change, but I will pick another even day. Fiance is fine with whatever day I want. He pretty much thinks wedding planning is woman’s work and since I will want things the way I want them that’s a-ok with me. He would be fine with whatever. Although he did assume he was wearing a full suit, which I never pictured him wearing one. We’re gonna have to talk about that one.

    Our wedding date is October 12, 2013. We chose that date because we got engaged in June 2012 and didn’t want to have an engagement much longer than 1 year but not too short either. We wanted October because it’s the perfect weather in our area (not too hot, but not too cold).

    • Wedding: May 2014 - Madison, WI

    We wanted about a year to plan. Got engaged May 7th 2013 so we’re just over a year from then until our wedding date. Anything sooner would have put us in fall or the dreaded Wisconsin Winter months which we did not want to happen. Then with our venue being a botanical garden, even though their indoor space is beautiful, our date is the first outdoor date available for the year.

    • Wedding: July 2014

    July 4, 2014 ! (: Originally it was going to be 2015 because that’s when I graduate university, but we have already been engaged for over 2 years, we didn’t want to wait another 2. So we moved it to June 20th 2014, because that was the closest friday (yes we want it on a friday) to our 8th year anniversary plus it would be warmer out for our outdoor wedding. But our officiant wants avaulable that day, so we had to move it to July 4th (: We aren’t American, so it’s just a reglar day here, not a holiday
