I mean, I can see a lot of issues, and from a guy standpoint.  All of these pet peeves seem like you’re trying to change the person that you fell in love with.

@malkamaniac: Not trying to change them necessarily. I think most of us know that’s futile. (Although for my part, it would be nice to not have to fear for my life whenever we drive somewhere). But we do get to bitch and complain about them here! That’s the beauty of this board.

@meliss: I certainly can’t fault you for saying the things here.  I understand that I’m a guy and tehincally an outsider.  Some of these complaints are just the usual ho hum daily life stuff though.

My girl hates that I play video games, but we’ve learned to comprise.  I think a lot of it could be handeled if it was logically talked about between the two parties.  Unless, I’m above the norm, her feelings should play an important part in what I think.

@malkamaniac: That’s what this thread is about, the normal quirks that your SO has that might annoy you. Believe me, I’ve attempted communication on some of these things, but my FI’s answer is “don’t nag me” Nag meaning, don’t ask me to do these things.

I’ve learned over the past 8 years that no, you can’t change the person you love into who you want, you have to accept them for who they are. If I want the dishes done, I have to do them. If his dirty socks annoy me, I pick them up and either throw them at him 🙂 or in the hamper.

This thread is just for fun, and to help each other realize we’re not being crazy, that everyone’s got their quirks in their relationship.

@arenyth: psh, this coming from a man’s mouth right here right now.  You’re all crazy!  Every last one of you!  BUT, we’re crazy too.  I just suppose that’s the way life is.

hahaha, this thread is great!

Fortunately Fiance finds the hamper for the most part, or gets close to it..  We just bought our house and will be really living together in about a week… EEKK!!!  We’ll see how that goes!  But he does leave his socks in a lil pile next to his desk or just leaves his shoes where ever he kicks them off!!  AHH!!  The house rule will be no shoes in the house!  And I cant stand that he just rips his finger nails and drops them on the floor.  And the dishes thing goes for me too.. he’ll just leave dirty dishes around until he does the dishes or I get tired of it.  Unfortunately wihtout a dishwasher right now, soaking is KEY!  Does it need to be soaked for dishwashers too?

My SO is the sweetest guy…and then he gets into the driver’s seat and turns in to a WORST DRIVER EVER. He TAILGATES, SPEEDS, SCREAMS and HONKS constantly. I can’t stand it!!!

@pinkshoes: with a new dishwasher, you should only have to rinse off sticky food if you are not running the wash immediately.

My SO asked what I didn’t like about him and I told him about the hamper issue. He laughed, and said “It’s true, I can’t really argue with that.” 🙂
