I waited 5 years before choosing a ring, so it had all the design elements I wanted.

Someday though a clean classic step cut solitaire might be nice. I love rose gold.

I’m a bit of a jewelry fanatic, so I knew about every size, style, and colour out there. By the time we chose my ring, I was just ready to have any ring on my finger. I still look though because it’s habit.

I wish I knew more about going to local jewellers or buying online.  We got mine from a chain store and I love it but it’s probably not the best quality (the clarity is lower).

I wish I had bought one online, researched moissanite, and looked into antique styles and alternative gemstones.

I also wish I would have gotten the e-ring and band as a set. It’s hard to find one that fits my ring that I like.

I wish I had known about halo settings and moissanite. 🙂

I wish I had known about moissanite too! And I wish I wasn’t so adamant about getting 18k gold or platinum. 14k would have been just as nice and cheaper!

I didn’t pick mine & honestly didn’t see the proposal coming but… I wish I’d known he’d planned to propose & would have known about MOISSANITE!! I’ve sold my mother on it & could have had her have a chat with him, lol. Oh well, I’ve got a beautiful ring either way…

ETA: I just read through the comments & realized I’m not the first to mention moissanite, so at least I know I’m not the only one. Great thread btw.

I wish I knew anything! haha. But honestly, I knew next to nothing when we decided to get engaged. We picked out my ering together but I just went with a solitaire at a chain store because I couldn’t find anything else I liked. I wish I’d known about all the beautiful styles out there, known about loose diamonds and all the many many options there are out there!

I worked at a jewelry store before we selected my ring. I had gone thru a lot of training and had seen and tried on a lot of rings, so there isn’t anything I wish I had known before we got my ring. What we got was exactly what I wanted. Probably the only thing I would have changed would be getting it in platinum, but that would have meant getting it custom made, because my ring came in either white or yellow gold.

I wish my fiance knew a little bit more about rings. I feel like he got ripped off. Would never let him know that, because he wanted nothing more than to pick the ring for me. At least the sentimental value is through the rough 🙂

Nada. I do LOVE me some rose gold, but I plan on a RHR to ease that lol. I love my ring and we spend some time choosing the setting and the Moissy! i’m super proud of my choice and it is beautiful! Im so very glad that my SO was on board with my more economical choice, he loves it too!

I didn’t even have an engagement ring for my second wedding.  (This was my choice.)  However, what I wish I had known for my first wedding was to look at matched sets, rather than just getting an engagement ring and then figuring out later how to get a wedding band to match it.

I didn’t chose my ring but I wouldn’t want to change a thing about it.  I love to look at all the colored gemstone rings on here though and would get them in a right-hand ring or anniversary band.  There are so many I’d never heard of before.

Fiance and I did a ton of research before he bought a ring. We were looking for a year before we got engaged so i was still surprised when he proposed. I just wish he would have got a wedding band with the ering bc im sure he could have gotten a great deal buying them together.
