I am nowhere near getting engaged (my boyfriend and I FINALLY talked about it, if anyone else read my other post, and we decided to wait until we’ve been dating for 2 years to take the next step – which means another year) BUT he and I are already kindasorta thinking about rings. Yay!
I’ve been lurking on the WB forums for a few months and I’ve seen many women here talking about James Allen, Tacori, Winston, etc…before I started reading the forums, the only engagement ring brands I had heard of were Tiffany’s (duh) and Neil Lane (from watching The Bachelor.) I know at the end of the day, a ring is a ring is a ring, but I’m curious – what do the different brands “say” about you? Like when I think of Tiffany’s, I think of class, elegance, simplicity, maybe even preppiness…what do the other brands “say?” Tacori? Harry Winston? Are some brands known for certain styles more than others?
Please weigh in and educate me and feel free to post pics as examples!

I think Tacori feels a lot more vintagy, while Tiffany’s are elegant and “simple” in a way.
I don’t have a “name brand” engagement ring…but I think my ring is gorgeous anyway. 😉
EDIT: I don’t know what my ring says about me. LOL

I have a Verragio. I love the intricacy of the band. It’s feminine.
I have a Tacori wedding band and I think it’s really detailed and feminine as well. I kind of see Tacori as being a “high maintenance” person’s ring? Not sure

Outdoorsy and loves nature.

Love yours too! I laughed at your description of Tacori, because I was initially drawn to Tacori…its what I wanted. I wouldn’t personally call myself high-maintenance but I would say I have set expectations. Hahah.
I’m extremely detail oriented so detail is important to me. Tacori is very detailed and I think that’s why I like it so much.

Distinct style, feminine, classic, likes the “bling” factor and lots of sparkle…

Low maintenance, likes to spice things up (the setting sits high…I know it doesn’t look that way). I don’t have a name brand engagement ring, but it didn’t matter to me.

Mine is a Simon G. Lots of celebs where Simon G because his stuff is usually very ornate and different. Neat designs and blingy or some would say ”gaudy”. Personally, I like blingy and ‘gaudy” haha. People can tell by my ring that I like to stand out and I love bling 😀

Mine is Simon G, too. I didn’t know that about celebs. That makes so much sense, if you knew me in real life. LOL.
Mine is posted…a few above yours. Mine isn’t as ornate as yours but like yours it does have “bling”.
LONG LIVE THE BLING! 🙂

haha everytime I watch the award shows, theres LOTS of the celebs who name Simon G as the the bling they are wearing, lol it always gets me excited:D
Your ring is so pretty though too! I really like the band:)

I love sparkle/bling and I am pretty OCD about things being symmetrical (had to have 2 matching wedding bands, not just 1 :P).
Edit: my e-ring is a C. Gonshor, and my wedding bands are just from Helzberg’s. What that says about me is that I am far more concerned with finding something that I love and I think looks good than the “brand.” I will buy anything if I like it, I have never been a brand-name girl. 🙂
