Since I pretty much just told him what I wanted (Kate Spade “mrs” necklace) I asked him what he wanted. We picked out a gorgeous watch together. We won’t wear our gifts until after the ceremony, and it is KILLING him that the watch is sitting in our closet with all of our wedding things, haha.

I tell him that’s his payback for making me wait three weeks after we bought my engagement ring before giving it to me 🙂

I’d like to get my Fiance a pocketwatch that you can put a picture in. I’d like to put a picture of his mother (maybe borrow one from his aunt) in it. He can put it in his pocket and it will be like she is there with us on the wedding day.

How fun would skydiving be?

We agreed we wouldn’t get eachother anything. Our budget was already stretched tight!

mine is totally not a cufflink guy, but i found a pair that he’ll love (as much as he can love cufflinks), and i wanted him to have a piece of jewelry from me to keep forever, since i’m not giving him a wedding band… he’s using a piece of family jewelry for that.  so they may sit in a box after the wedding, but they’ll make me feel like i gave him something that’s “ours” and he’ll like them for the wedding!

I’m going to get my fiance an engraved high-end utility/hunting knife. He’s been hinting for a while that he wants a new one so I think a really nice one would be a good gift.

I have a strange feeling he has no idea that he’s supposed to get me a gift…

My gift for him is the groom’s cake. I went with a local baker and she’s doing a 3-d cake in the shape of a food truck. It’s his not-so-secret dream to own one one day. Flavors are a Guiness chocolate cake with peanut butter fudge filling. (PB and chocolate is his favorite combo)

We’ve decided against doing gifts with all the money being spent on the wedding. I think we plan to write each other really nice letters/notes.

@lolot:  I am going to give him a post wedding day flight in a hot air balloon before we depart for our honeymoon.  The cost is $295.00 per person, which includes a boat ride to the lift off point on the lake, a champagne toast and the actual hot air ballon flight. He has no idea, he will be so surprised.  I cannot wait!!

I am getting my Fiance something he can wear the day of which are these custom made sterling silver cufflinks with the word LOVE written in binary code on them. He is a computer science/tech guy so he would completely understand what they meant. I don’t expect him to really wear them past the wedding day which is fine with me since they were only $25 which I thought was a steal. I am also thinking of getting him something more useful but with some thought behind it. I am not sure what it is going to be yet. We both agreed that we didn’t need to spend a ton of money on whatever bride and groom gifts we decide to give one aother. 🙂
