I am SO bad at negotiating and thought I would ask for some advice. I have researched a place for weeks and been in touch with the on site coordinator for a venue. I went to see it today and fell IN LOVE. Now, we are literally willing to put down a deposit TODAY. What are some things you guys have negotiated or asked for in terms of bringing down pricing? For example, if you say you are willing to sign a contract or put down a deposit within x days of seeing the place (in our case a day or 2), can you reduce this room fee? etc etc.
Any advice is appreciated! Thank you 🙂

Could you offer to do your own set up and/or cleanup? I’m not really sure what there is to negotiate on for just the venue.

I don’t know if they would bring their price down, unless it’s an all-inclusive venue, and you provide your own services so you don’t have to pay them for that.

Our venue came with discounts built in (discount on ceremony for having the reception there, guest rooms automatically discounted, etc.). I’d just ask what kinds of discounts they offer, if you’re doing an off-season or fri/sun weddings, they’ll usually give you a discount.
